If LeBron goes back to Cleveland, which would be a smart decision for numerous reasons, which duo will be better?

I believe Irving is going to help take LeBrons game to the next level, separating him from Jordan. Durant is going to need to develop a better post game if he wants to turn himself into THAT type of player.

Lol, Irving is not close to Westbrook. And the gap between Lbj and Kd aint that large.

Right now Durant + Westbrook > LeBron + Kyrie

Although LeBron is better than Durant (not by significant margin), Kyrie is not even close to being on the same level as Westbrook. Kyrie's not even a top 10 PG. .

LeBron better than KD (with an ever shrinking gap and look for KD to tie the gap or even overtake him over the next couple of seasons)

Westbrook is on a different tier compared to Irving

Overall KD/Westbrook > LeBron/Irving

Basically LeBron's lead on KD isn't enough to make-up for the huge gap between RW and Irving.

Irving and Westbrook is a close debate. Irving is definitely a better scorer than Westbrook. Westbrook is better at just about everything else though.

Westbrook isn't really good at any basketball skill. The guy for the most part is just a superb athlete. He isn't a good scorer as he is amazingly inefficient, he isn't a good shooter from any range especially 3 point, he is a good passer but an unwilling one, he is a good defender when he wants to be which is generally never because he gambles a lot, he isn't good at taking care of the ball if you look at how many turnovers he has per game especially when he just played 30 mpg last season, but I guess he is a good rebounder but that attributes a lot from his athleticism.

Westbrook gets overrated because of his ability but his production isn't there because of his mindset.

I would probably take Lebron and Irving because they complement each other better honestly. Lebron would make Irving better by creating him and the rest of his teammates good looks and Irving is obviously a tremendous shooter. Irving would also relieve some pressure off Lebron with his own ability to create his own shot. Westbrook and Durant don't really make each other better from what I see at least not as much you would like to see from a superstar tandem.

id like to see what Kyrie plays like next to lebron (if it happens), theres no doubt in my mind he can and will be better offensively than westbrook, they are already pretty close on that end. defensively kyrie is worthless tho, which is why i want to see how he does on a less dysfunctional team.

LeBron is better than Durant but Westbrook is better than Kyrie. I'd give it to the OKC duo.

Irving vs Westbrook is not a debate right now. Westbrook isn't good at any skills? Expect most of them. He is a better passer, rebounder, defender. Right now Westbrook is the better scorer. Westbrook beats Irving in every stat playing far less minutes.

The only thing Irving has on Westbrook is he a better shooter. He is a great one on one player. Which is one of the reasons i'm not sure that him and Lebron are a good fit.

The reality about Irving is I'm still not sure he even that good of a player. He has not elevated the Cavs. He has near 30 usage% but barely 20 PER. He not good defensively. He doesn't get his teammates open looks. I don't even know if he has improved since his rookie year. He not turning the ball as much as he use to do. That is pretty much it.

Right now almost all Irvings value is in PPG. He doesn't really do much of anything else special. If they were adding just Lebron I think he be fine. If they also add Kevin Love he becomes a third option. A third option that has questionable value when he not scoring. A ball dominate player watching others with the ball.

To be honest if I was Lebron I would rather have Kevin Love, and Wiggins. Wiggins and Lebron could be an insane defensive duo. Lebron is going to be sick when he finds he has an all-star PG but he has to still switch to the elite point guards. Irving, Waiters, with Love in the front court is the makings of a terrible defensive team.

Irving and Lebron would be not a disaster but a huge conflict style wise. Which one would play off the ball. Irving is more of a pure point guard and he would have to succumb his game in order for Lebron can drive and kick to 3 point shooters in an Lebron small ball offense. I don't see Irving averaging over 20 points or over 7 assists playing with Lebron

Since when?

Anyway Irving is a ball dominant player so he won't work that great with Lebron. Not to mention he is a putrid defender. He is not a high impact player Lebron or not.

LBJ and KD are 1 and 2 in the league.

Westbrook is top 10 in the NBA while Kyrie is fringe top 10 at his position

I think Irving will improve and be a nice second option, but at this point it is all about if LeBron > Westbrook+Durant

Westbrook is twice the player Irving is right now.

This season, he scored more on a higher TS% (21.8ppg on 54.5TS% for RWB vs. 20.8ppg on 53.3TS%). He outrebounded Irving by a lot (5.7TRB, 10.5TRB% to 3.6TRB, 5.8TRB%). He got more assists than Irving (6.9apg with a 40.2AST% to 6.1 on just a 31.6AST%). Westbrook plays significantly better defense than Irving (+.6 on defense by RAPM, compared to -2.6 for Irving). Irving's only advantage on Westbrook right now is that he doesn't turn over the ball as much.

The gab between these two is enormous, far bigger than the gap between LeBron and Durant.
