Since this is a basketball forum I would assume that everyone has played basketball before. So Give yourself a scouting report:
ME:
6'1 189lb------
Strengths: High basketball IQ, lethal post moves, nice mid-range shot which will open up shots for his teammates killer instinct,a walking double-double every time he steps on the court
Weaknesses: Tends to play hero-ball, streaky shooter, needs to work on ball-handling to help create his own shot, plays dirty when things don't go his way such as unnecessary fouling.
NBA Comparison: David West/Karl Malone

Me: 6' 125 lbs
Strengths: Athletic, Good post moves, good rebounder, long arms, ability to affect many shots especially on the perimeter, Always wants to win.
Weakness': Inconsistent motor, Can't shoot outside of 5 feet, Inconsistent defender, Not a good dribbler, not a good passer, can get bullied inside against anyone who is stronger so everyone

, will at times try and play hero ball, takes many bad shots, will force shots that I don't have at times.
That's all I can think of for me, I am sure that there are many more things on weakness'' that can be added, and maybe a few to strengths.
NBA Comparison: No one, I am my own player.

Me: 5'9 140 lbs PG
NBA Comparison: Rondo with Range
Strengths: High B-Ball IQ - knows how to play the lanes and is a great defender - Assist machine - decent shot from the distance - fundamentally sound - good post up game for a PG
Weakness: Needs to gain weight, sometimes too passive and defers to teammates - not a great finisher - not a great leaper - quickness needs some work, injury prone

6'3 180 lbs
Strengths: Good overall offensive player, I like a lot to pass the ball and I think I can do it properly, athletic (except motor), can contests shots, good teammate, I like to encourage and cheer them up.
Weaknesses: Bad rebounder, I don't like to play in the post, I tend to coast on defence due to my lack of motor

This is pretty fun!
5'7" 170 lbs PG
NBA Comparison: Eric Bledsoe
Strength: Superior athleticism and body control, tight handle with both hands and good passing ability. Knows where his teammates like to receive the ball, routinely collapses defenses off the dribble and hits open shooters. Excellent strength for size. 6'2" wingspan. Good on-ball defender. Solid jump shot mechanics and decently reliable 3 point range. Finishes well at rim. In terrific shape/condition. High bball IQ, good communicator, unselfish teammate, very competitive.
Weaknesses: Can be passive at times. Doesn't always effectively utilize quick first step. Tends to play passing lanes too aggressively. Gets frustrated if outside shot isn't falling. Has a good jumper (though there is room for improvement), but often settles instead of attacking basket, which is what he's best at. Doesn't move well off the ball. Needs to have the ball on the perimeter to be most effective. Out of control in transition and susceptible to turnovers. Short, injury prone, sometimes too competitive.

5'9, 170
NBA Comparison: No great comparison cause he is so terrible.
Strength: Above average strength and deceptively quick. Funny guy, so he's always good for a laugh. Superior bench warmer and great towel boy.
Weaknesses: Horrible shooter and passer. Awkward and unconfident with his jump shot...gets nervous when players get near and forces up a shot or takes a dreadfully off-balance shot. Tends to overhelp on defense. Inability to drive left leads to predictable defensive sets. A lingering ankle injury from college slows him down from playing for too long.

Limited scoring game to wide open jumpers(set shots) out to 3 point range and putbacks. Will post smaller defenders. Intelligent passer from the high post. Really good rebounder especially offensively, good post defender and shot blocker but definitely a liability guarding on the perimeter at this point. Do not want me handling the ball with the dribble. Mostly a garbage player, plays hard and physical and borderline dirty. Think Eddie Najera with Boris Diaw passing.
In my prime I was still mostly a garbage type player, but far more athletic. Was a terrific defender/rebounder and played wing in high school. Always took the toughest assignments. Think very poor man's Shawn Marion.

5'4" PF the last season active 6th grade)
NBA comparison: Rasheed Wallace
Other than abilities to be toss out of elementary school games at a record rate (hence the Wallace comparison), no strong abilities. Dribbled reasonably well with right hand, could shoot to 15' withbmoderate accuracy in HORSE games. Most effective shooting reverse layups or scoop shots. Decent court vision and passing ability.
Retired after 6th grade season to focus on ice hockey.

6' 160lbs guard
Strengths:basketball IQ/knows how to play. Good on ball defender who sits low in his stance and works hard, fights through screens effectively, always contests shots. Sets good, hard screens. Always looking to set a teammate up. Solid passer who doesn't hold the ball much. Boxes out and always competes physically. Uses the pump fake well to set up his floater game. Can catch and shoot out to college 3. Always communicating on both ends. Knows his own limitations.
Weaknesses: not an explosive athlete or much of a help defender. Handle is adequate but good ball pressure can cause turnovers. Struggles to finish at the rim. Jumper is inconsistent. Could stand to be more aggressive/looks to fit in more than assert his will.

6'1 160 lbs
Strengths: Great catch and shoot shooter. Makes very good use of screens. Always running, helps stretch the defense. Good off-ball player. Good man defender and shot-blocker.
Weaknesses: Bad at creating on-ball without screens. Not explosive. Not suited to a fluid defensive scheme.
NBA comparison: Kyle Korver/Steve Novak

Flashy ball handler and an exceptional post game.
Bad court vision(code for ball hog). Incredible bad jump shooter past 12 feet and an even worse rebounder

6'4'' 180-185 lbs combo guard (mostly two guard though)
Strengths: Very good shooter with the ability to create his own shot on a regular basis and seemingly unlimited shooting range, good ballhandler with his right hand, can't really make a good use of his left though. Excellent at creating space for his shot. Moves well without the ball, good ability to catch and shoot. Good ball fakes in the post, can really find openings in the defense. Fairly high bball IQ on the offensive end, good instinctual feel for the game. Great length/wingspan. Solid passer. Pretty much unstoppable when he gets hot. Solid man defender. Fierce competitor with undeniable killer instinct, thrives in clutch situations. Designated go-to-guy on all the teams he played on.
Weaknesses: Poor athlete, lacks great understanding of team defense, but can come up with some steals and blocks. Lacks strength to defend bigger, stronger guys. Chucker, takes many bad shots, breaks offensive schemes with his ego-driven, ill-advised shot selection which drives his coach and teammates crazy at times. Oftentimes selfish, concerned with looking good rather than winning, makes excessively flashy plays which often result in turnovers. Poor rebounder. Shies away from physical play, many scouts called him 'soft'. Doesn't like to use screens, doesn't like to execute set plays, loves isoball and going 1 on 1.
Unlikely to take his game to the next level due to his lack of willingness to adapt his game to a team concept, lack of athleticism and mental issues (lack of focus and dedication to weight training, on the other hand loves to shoot by himself in the gym and do ball-handling drills).
NBA Comparison: poor man's Jerry West/Pete Maravich (similar hairstyle to Pistol Pete)

Me:
6'4 - 167lbs
Strenghts: Lightining first-step, excellent finisher from left hand and around the rim, gifted shot-blocker and defensive anchor well above average class level, versatile defender capable of perimeter and interior defense, decent bball-IQ, competitive, decent rebounder, floor leader, natural athlete, pass-first/team mentality, solid instincts.
Weaknesses: Sloppy handles. Almost entirely left-hand dominant, is prone to bite at pump-fakes, only interior offensive game, no mid-range or three-ball game, cannot create shot outside of drives, doesn't shoot nearly enough, too skinny for interior anchor relative to class level, can be prone to foul trouble.
NBA Comparison: Dikembe Mutombo

I'm surprised at how many tall people there are in this thread. I was expecting more average height (5'9 or so).

Oh, I forgot to add that I have perhaps the most bizarre shooting form you'd ever see in your life, it's even funnier than Shawn Marion's form. I bet you'd burst out laughing seeing me shoot for the first time, but it does go in pretty often, so I'm not changing it.

It's totally natural, I've never taken any advice on how to shoot and didn't try to alter my form.
Dick Barnett's jumpshot is probably the closest to my style, I mean the way he bended his knees in the air while releasing the ball. I do the same.

Either
1) People are falsifying their height (which I doubt)
2) Or short people are staying away from the thread

6'3'' or 6'4'' guys (like me) aren't really THAT tall. There are many men this height. I'd consider 6'6'' + to be really unusually tall. I believe Doctor MJ is like 6'9'' or so, at least I remember reading that on this board some time ago.

It makes sense that a lot of people who take basketball seriously enough to contribute to a basketball message board played at least high school ball or something.
Or people could just be giving themselves some extra inches. Or shorter people are more discouraged to post in this thread for some reason.
It's weird that I'm easily the shortest person in this thread but am heavier than about half of you.
