Chris Bosh and Lebron said they are the best team they have ever played against.
They are the best team I have ever seen. Innovative system, a ton of weapons, 2-way players and they can play any style of game.

01 Lakers - lose
02 Lakers - lose
03 Spurs - win
04 Pistons - win
05 Spurs - lose
06 Heat - win
07 Spurs - lose
08 Celtics - lose
09 Lakers - lose
10 Lakers - lose
11 Mavericks - lose
12 Heat - lose
13 Heat - win
Would LOVE to see the series against the 04 Pistons, the 08 Celtics, and the 11 Mavericks.
Against teams that feature great shooting and passing, high IQ players, a strong defense, and great coaching, but also have a superstar talent (01 and 02 Lakers, 05 Spurs, 07 Spurs, 08 Celtics, 09 Lakers, 10 Lakers, 11 Mavericks, and 12 Heat), I think the 14 Spurs would lose.

^^LOL
There's absolutely no way the Spurs would lose to any unathletic, slow-paced team like the Kobe-Gasol Lakers.

00 Lakers (Lakers)
01 Lakers (Lakers)
02 Lakers (Lakers)
03 Spurs (14 Spurs)
04 Pistons (14 Spurs)
05 Spurs (05 Spurs)
06 Heat (14 Spurs)
07 Spurs (07 Spurs)
08 Celtics (Celtics)
09 Lakers (Lakers)
10 Lakers (Lakers)
11 Dallas (14 Spurs)
12 Heat (Heat)
13 Heat (14 Spurs)
But having said that, the way this team caught fire id back them to beat any team in the last 20 years. Everything was clicking. Those massive 15+ pt wins with ridiculous efficiency. Their shots fell, it was too unfair.

The 2002 Lakers struggled against Sacramento's ball movement and were outplayed for most of the series.
These Spurs move the ball even better than Sacramento, they have way more shooters and much better defensive players. I don't really understand that logic LOL.
You guys are also ignoring the fact that the basketball that was played by most of these teams was antiquated, ISO-oriented offense that pales in comparison to Pop's innovative, new-age system with these Spurs.

06 Heat - win
07 Spurs - lose
08 Celtics - lose

10 Lakers - lose
11 Mavericks - lose

So the '14 Spurs only beat the '06 Heat, '03 Spurs, and '13 Heat.

I reckon they'd go something like 7-6 at best and maybe 5-8 at worst.
Teams they beat IMO (no particular order): 04 Pistons, 06 Heat, 07 Spurs, 13 Heat
Teams they take to a Game 7: 10 Lakers, 11 Mavericks, 12 Heat
Teams they probably lose: 02 Lakers, 03 Spurs, 05 Spurs, 08 Celtics, 09 Lakers
Teams they definitely lose to: 01 Lakers

This is probably pretty close to my list. I think the worst matchups would be the Shaq n Kobe Lakers, and the '08 Celtics. The best series of the bunch, or at least most interesting, might be the 04 Pistons. The offensive roleplayers v. the defensive roleplayers, and not a true star in the bunch. Not sure how that would turn out.

Yep, the same team that the 2014 Mavs took to 7 games would take out a far superior 2011 Mavs team, with a far superior version of Dirk, in 5 games.

2001 Lakers: Lakers in 4 or 5
2002 Lakers: Lakers in 7
2003 Spurs: 2014 Spurs in 4
2004 Pistons: Spurs in 6 (would be a great series)
2005 Spurs: 2005 Spurs in 6-7
2006 Heat: Spurs in 4
2007 Spurs: 2014 Spurs in 6
2008 Celtics: No idea here, it'd go 7 but I don't know who'd win
2009 Lakers: Lakers in 7
2010 Lakers: Spurs in 6-7
2011 Mavs: Mavs in 7
2012 Heat: Heat in 7
2013 Heat: Spurs in 6

I won't go and do a list, suffice to say there would be very few teams who would have a case against them. Very few. And some of the ones that do are also Spurs teams.

It seems it's the consensus that the Spurs would take down Detroit in 04. I don't agree, that Pistons team was one of the most incredible defensive teams I've ever seen. If the Spurs were threatened by Ibaka, imagine a prime Ben Wallace. Spurs would struggle to even initiate their offense against the Pistons once they reached half court.
That would be something though, one of the best modern offensive teams against one of the best modern defensive teams.

Well, he did claim that these Spurs would beat the 2001 Lakers, so that pretty much sums up his opinion.
I think they lose to: 2001-02 Lakers, 2004 Pistons, 2005 Spurs, 2008 Celtics, 2009 Lakers, 2011 Mavs, and 2012 Heat.

This "2014 Mavs are better than 2011" is pretty silly, but I'm addressing it on another thread so I'll leave it alone on this one.

Who said that? Pretty sure absolutely no one. Everyone is saying the opposite of that and pointing out that teh 14 Mavs gave this SAS their toughest challenge.
Now I personally think its irrelevant, but at least understand what people are really saying.
