You always hear people talk about who's the best dunker or 3 point shooter, maybe even slickest passer and everything in between when it comes to offense but something you don't hear often/ or appreciate is the mid range game. Maybe it's because it's decreased so much in today's NBA but I've always loved watching a dude stroke a 15 footer so consistently.

So my question is who's your top 5 best mid ranger jump shooters since 2000?

This is off the top of my head but

1. Kevin Garnett
2. Kobe Bryant
3. Paul pierce
4. Dirk Nowitzki
5. Kevin Durant

Any stat to back that list up?

On a quick search in basketball-reference.com, I see statistical evidence that Dirk is a much better jump shooter even inside the 3 point line than KG.

Also Nash seems to deliver quite a lot. I think he has by far the best mid range.

On my research I included regular season and playoffs.

Dirk owns this.

Kobe, Dirk and the rest

No one else is even remotely comparable to these two in terms of volume/efficiency from mid-range, especially in the playoffs.

How is Kobe comparable to Dirk there? Do u have the numbers?

Mj and Larry are prolly the only 2 in history on Dirks level

If Basketball-reference's shooting numbers are correct, I'm actually kind of surprised that KG's % is as close to Dirk's as they are (from 10 to 16 feet, and from 16 to 23) Didn't think KG would be as far ahead of Kobe as he is.

Anyway, I didn't see the words "shot creator" in this topic.

Rip Hamilton should be in this discussion.

How about Nash? He didn't take as many shots as Dirk or Kobe, but his percentages were on Dirk's level. For that reason, I think he deserves to be mentioned.

Dirk and Brand would be at the top of my list. Not sure about everyone else though.

Yeah, he's great, and stats DO back it up. He had seasons with about 45% from the midrange area, on a pretty decent volume.

2006 and 2007 Brand was deadly from midrange, that's true, still good in 2005, but that's about it. His percentages before 2005 aren't that great, in fact he often struggled to reach 40% before '05.

Dirk and KG are the most consistently great midrange shooters among bigs (in fact, Dirk may be the GOAT midrange shooter, at any position).

Chris Bosh is an excellent midrange shooting big, as well.
