Is there a current player that comes to remind that reminds you of Peak Glenn Robinson?

Yes, Carmelo Anthony is like a better version of him.

Agree with Melo and Gay. What about a better version of Marin Williams?

Not a bad comparison.

I think prime Danny Granger is a solid comparison, too (but Granger shot more threes, while Big Dog relied more on his long twos).

I agree that Glenn Robinson was stylistically similar to Carmelo Anthony but not as good as Carmelo.

I thought Granger had more quickness and was a better leaper and defender than Carmelo and Big Dog. I don't think Robinson and Granger were very similar.

Big Dog had a good mid range game. Big Dog is listed at 6' 7" but I picture him as taller than other players listed as 6' 7".

Melo is really the only guy who comes to mind no one else really has the post/iso game.

I think he's closer to Tobias Harris than Melo. But yea triple threat forwards. Parker once we get to see him. Wiggins has some in him(I do get the Gay comparison due to athletic ability). Pierce but more guard ability(pretty much better ball control in non scoring situations).
Hmm I think that's it.

I think Robinson's mid range was something more than just good, but he didn't have much more to offer.
His defense was horrible, anyway.

Robinson like the jump shot too much. He should have gone to the basket more.

Yes, it was. Based on the numbers available on basketball-reference (so starting with the 2000-01 season), in the last three seasons of his prime (2000-01 to 2002-03) he shot:

2001 - 443/968 (45.8%)
2002 - 309/635 (48.7%)
2003 - 305/674 (45.2%)

He was likely the best midrange shooter in the league those years (at least among All-Star caliber players). Off the top of my head, the only one who was comparable was Dirk.

Unfortunately...

All of these statements are correct, too. He was rarely getting to the basket and drawing fouls, which could have made him a more valuable player, because he actually shot 82% from the foul line for career. He also wasn't anything special as a 3-pt shooter (career 34% on 2.6 attempts is respectable, but nothing more than that). As a result, his great midrange jumper was a bit of a "fool's gold", because he wasn't a terribly efficient overall scorer. Hovered just around league average most years (52.9% TS for his career).

I think he was at his best in Milwaukee when Ray Allen and Sam Cassell played with him. They realled opened up easy opportunities for him to score.

Allan Houston was right there, too:

01 - 48.9% 10-16', 48.6% 16-<3PT

02 - 47.8% 10-16', 44.9% 16-<3PT

03 - 49% 10-16', 46.4% 16-<3PT

A less efficient Carmelo Anthony.
