We prefer the likes of Randy Foye and Semaj Christon over actual NBA level players thank you very much.

I can't understand the defending of Russ for the 4th quarter. I don't care how bad your teammates are, they're NBA players. When you go 4-18 in a quarter you can pass the damn ball. Drive and kick. Something, but Russ was jacking up a shot EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION and missed every single one for majority of the quarter. He was the reason they got a lead but also the reason they lost.

All 3 of these things can be true(and I think they are):

1. Russ was amazing for the first 3 quarters.

2. Russ was bad in the 4th quarter.

3. The Thunder supporting cast is really bad, and that has nothing to do with not being "empowered"

Funny thing is, Oladipo was 3-for-5 in the 6 minutes he played without Westbrook. That means he was 1-for-9 in the 35 minutes he played with Westbrook. With 0-for-6 on three-point attempts, and 5 of them being more like "Shoot, I can't do anything anymore with this ball, let me just give it to Dipo and then I either get an assist or its on him" type of pass. If you talk about something not being there it must have been chemistry.

I agree with you, but I believe he went to the bench with a double digit lead at the end of the third and when he came back they were down. So he probably thought he had to take over, not that it worked out.

Edit: I checked and he went out up 86-74 with about 2:20 left in the quarter. The Rockets then went on a 12-3 run.

So they were still up 3 when he came back in the 4th.

Also OKC scored 111.

So people are criticizing their offense, but they gave up 115 to Houston, 10 more than their season average.

Sure, and he's sucked the entire rest of the season with Westbrook on the bench. Lets go with the 6 minute sample as showing though, because, you know, it's always his fault. Maybe Dipo kinda isn't that good.

Oh he was bad, but that's also how they've won countless 4th quarters this year.

The Rockets went 5-for-5 in those 2.21 minutes, all 5 of them were well challenged defensively. Not much you can do against that as a team. Ok, the Thunder went 1-for-4 against that but would it have really been much different with a tiring Westbrook running the offense?

The Thunder really blew it in the 4th were Westbrook himself went 4-from-18 and the rest shot 2-from-8 from his passes (none of them being really good). There was not one single play where Westbrook took a backseat, despite well playing beyond his limits at that point. The turtle beat the rabbit yesterday. Westbrook was like Usain Bolt in the Houston Marathon, and he got beat at the finish line.

True, I really really hope management can get some shooters and off the dribble threats in the offseason.

They need this, a backup PG, and to get rid of Kanter.

With OKC's current team structure, I think it's going to be incredibly difficult to retool the roster with competent shooters. Their tradeable players are either overpaid or extremely flawed and they dont have any quality draft picks to spare. You're going to be giving up dimes on the dollar here. Individually, guys like Oladipo, Kanter and Adams are much better players than the shooters they can get on the market, but under the current OKC system they're oddly being under-utilized while being overvalued. That's $60+ mil a year your spending on your 2nd, 3rd and 4th options, whom are all questionable fits.

I don't think you can get a backup point guard that's as good at generating offense as Kanter is, given the situation

Better off keeping him and using MLE for a decent backup. But if they match Roberson the tax comes into play. Anyone know what the tax payer MLE will be?

They can get a backup PG who can actually play because his defense is passable.
