Heard it here first.

TJ got game, making the right moves, finding the right spots 9-9-5-2 as a starter in the 76ers turnaround.

I'm going to bet that T.J. McConnell will not be in the NBA after 2 years.

You're going to be sorely mistaken but props for laying it on the line.

I think he'll be in the NBA. He'd be a solid backup.

If every black point guard is taken out by a racist asteroid he has a shot

He's scrappy a real gym rat, deceptively athletic, and a real student of the game. First one in last one out, high basketball IQ, and a great locker room guy.

I don't think he has all star potential. He certainly has a solid game at the moment with room for improvement, but still, he's not particularly dynamic offensively, not a good scorer/shooter at all so it's hard to see him making the ASG unless his team was unbelievably successful with him as the starting PG. Also, he's not super young either, he's going to be 25 in another month or so.

In a league where the point guard position is probably the deepest, in either conference he'll struggle to make it.

In all actuality probably not but he could be a quite serviceable 6th man

I think it's pretty obvious that TJ is riding the wave of Sixers success while having almost nothing to do with it.

This is actually the dumbest thing in this thread. Even more so than the racist asteroid.

The Sixers are 30th in offense the past 14 games (since TJ started starting).

This is just blatantly false, and proves you haven't watched the Sixers lately. He's been one of the main reasons we've been winning so much besides Embiid.

You can see a clear drop-off in the team's play when Sergio Rodriguez comes in to sub. TJ's been playing really well, consistent all-around defense while playing within his athletic means and finding open teammates when applicable. Can't really ask much more from an undrafted, athletically-limited PG. The Sixers are a better team with him as the starting PG, playing majority of the minutes.

The only thing this proves is Sixers fans have no idea why they're winning games.

Its been 15. And they've been about 7 points per 100 worse with him on the bench in that span.

105 O rating on/98.6 off.

This is as off the mark as what OP suggested. T.J. certainly belongs in the league as a solid backup.

Oh right, he missed one game.

Starting has him playing mostly with Embiid...who gets the credit there...?

Let's look at the games Embiid has missed and TJ started.

@ WASH = 97 Ortg, TJ with a 3.1 game score
@ ATL = 93 Ortg, TJ with a 12 game score

Going to ignore the games prior to that when Embiid did play and the offense was horrible?

Why would I ignore that? TJ was still playing 20 MPG. Plenty of minutes to make an impact.

It's not complicated...The Sixers win because of their elite defense and Embiid gets credit for dragging their offense from awful to just mediocre. It has nothing to do with TJ or Sergio or anyone else.

See my post above. The offense was still awful for the first 2 plus months. It jumped about 7 points per 100 when McConnell got to start.
