That's a joke considering Pippen had been the best defensive player on the bulls since the 1990 season.

umm no he wasn't. Wasn't the best till probably 1996.

Yeah... he was. Every advanced stat shows him to be better and frankly I know what I saw with my own eyes. Pippen had a bigger impact defensively than Jordan did since the 1990 season and he was much more dominant than Jordan ever was in 94 and 95. He had the bulls at 2nd in defense after losing Jordan and Grant...the two other best defensive players during the first threepeat. His dominance as a defender on the perimeter is unmatched by anybody.

Yeah and I know what I saw as well and every advanced stat shows MJ was the better defender thru 1993 including the voting. Heck even in 1996 Jordan metric wise was better.

Robinson's soul was snatched in the 95 WCF.

Yep, Jordan's soul was ripped by the Celts and DET every year. That's the reason why they got so mentally tough. Everytime you had an all-time performance then proceeds to lose then it's heartbreaking and soul ripping. You can check MJ's interviews back then and he was so bitter about losing against those teams.

I'd say '09, '12, '13, '16 and '17 LeBron are basically a wash with '93 Jordan. The difference is so miniscule that I don't think it's even worth exploring.

Why do people keep leaving 2010 off? He wasn't worse than he was those other years.

His playoffs were weaker that year enough to put him below 93 Jordan.

The numbers are fairly even with LeBron's best years, but going by the eye-test, I have to agree with the people who said, "None."

Do you have any article or links regarding this one? I'm trying to search chicagotribune on the net but I couldn't find any

93 MJ is not the "very best" by jordan
I've got at least 10 players' best season that could challenge that season, + a handful by Lebron

I noticed that MJ slightly changed his approach in 1993.....he seemed to force more "bad shots" for some reason. His defense wasn't as good as the previous years also imo. Same for his effeniency. He also seemed slightly slower and less athletic..Peak LeBron is better than 1993 MJ imo.

Could have that been a mental aspect?

He retired the first time soon after that season and even before the finals of 1993 I did see an interview of him talking about his potential retirement.

Yeah that may be it. Even with all that the guy was absolutely amazing (especially in the finals). But overall its clear 93 is a slight decline

I don't know but you can take a lot of versions of Lebron and put him on the Bulls instead of Jordan and he will win that ring in 1993.
