In the hypothetical scenario where irving is traded to the suns, which back court duo would you take for THIS SEASON.
I'll take Irving/Booker, expecting Booker to be >McCollum this season

I'll tell you this right now: there's absolutely no way in Hell booker is better than McCollum, who averaged about 24 on 48/42/90 i think this past year, and is an elite scorer from almost all over the court. Booker's never even cracked a league average 55 TS%, and I don't necessarily seeing him changing that too much this year. We'll see, but that's a big leap. CJ is a legit all star player

Both are bad fits, you have two SG's on Phoenix and two PG's on Portland.
I'll give the edge though to Portland because they're a bit more mature as a whole and their passing ability is a bit more attractive. Phoenix might be a bit more difficult to defend if they had a really good passing big man or Forward who they could run the offense through.

Both Irving and Booker aren't exactly known for being great off-ball players.

What makes Lillard better than Irving?

It's not a huge gap or anything, because they are very similar.
But Lillard has been able to lead a mediocre team as the unquestioned no 1 to the playoffs and second round multiple times, and Irving hasn't. I'm aware of all the nuances on Irving's side but the fact is that he hasn't, just like Lillard hasn't "balled out in the finals". Both of them have something over the other which the latter is not in a position to replicate, but i value leading your team as a number 1 more than excelling in the finals as a no 2. Simple as that
