Their box scores may look close, but Curry wasn't the defensive liability Thomas is, and watching Thomas play I don't feel he makes teammates better and his box scores easily overrate his impact.

Curry makes his teammates better by his gravity alone. He's like the opposite of a black hole!

Curry was the best player in the NBA at that point, he is easily better than Thomas. Curry is a much better passer than Isaiah is on top of being a more consistent scoring threat.
