Hmm... most people say Hakeem was the most complete & versatile two way big man ever existed... Scoring, Rebounding, Blocks, Steals etc.

Robert Horry who played with both said Olajuwon is far better player of the two...

Tim Duncan was the better:

Rebounder (gap)
Passer (gap)

While Hakeem was

Better Scorer (big gap)

Defensively, they are very close. Based on that, I'd probably go with TD on all roundness. But Hakeem was the better player IMO.

Hakeem...and by a notable margin.

He was easily the better offensive player with a far more versatile scoring repertoire and while both were strong rim protectors, Hakeem finished his career as the All-Time leader in blocks as well as top 10 all-time in scoring, rebounds, and STEALS.

Going through the stats, they’re both pretty similar players w/ PER, longevity, etc. Yeah TD has 3 more titles but no MJ to battle. I’d have to say they’re 50/50. But aesthetically speaking, Hakeem’s footwork was so damn smooth, and his blocks were straight-up filthy

Hakeem. I watched both in their primes and Hakeem was a much better player. A more exciting player too. Not boring like Duncan.

duncan is far better than hakeem

the fact that duncan produced the stats he did while playing with kawhi, manu, admiral and parker speaks to how good he is

not to mention he has 5 rings and 2 mvps. more than hakeem ever had

So we are giving Hakeem credit for producing stats with 2 rings while MJ retired, but giving Duncan credit for his lower stats while getting FIVE RINGS to Hakeems two?

Imagine if Duncan was drafted by a terrible team. He would be putting up stats that eclipsed Hakeems easily.

The dude put up 22/21/10/8 (and two were later found to be blocks...AKA a quad double) in a FINALS CLOSING game....

Yall crazy to put up Hakeem Mr. 2 rings over Timmy Mr. 5 rings....

Hakeem.

Not even close.

Olajuwan's offensive game was light years ahead of Timmy. And his defensive prowess is also unquestioned being a 2x Defensive Player of the Year. Tim Duncan is a 0x Defensive Player of the Year.

And you forgot about Gregg Popovich.

How many rings do you think Duncan would've won with Rudy Tomjanovich as his head coach? I'd guess 0.

The dude put up a damn near quad double in a Finals closing game. Imagine his stats under a coach that didn't minimize his stats to maximize the team success?

Newsflash: Pop is considered the greatest coach of all time. Duncan is not considered the greatest player of all time. Duncan is not even consistently listed in the top 10.

Here San Antonio is in the post Duncan era and they're STILL winning 60+ games.

The story of Spurs rings has less to do with Duncan and more to do with the GOAT coach in Pop.

Hakeem could do more things in more special ways. Which is actually one of the reasons it's been hard for me to countenance splitting the two in all-time rankings by more than a spot or two.

You lost every bit of credibility when you said Duncan isn't listed consistently in the top 10

This is my last response to you. You are not worth my time son.
