How good would Jack Sikma be today?

He had a pretty good jump shot, and I remember him being a good defender. He just wasn't a strong shot blocker for his size.

From the very little that I've seen of him, Sikma looks like he'd be a good stretch 5 in today's game (so basically what he was in his day too). He's someone whose career averages of 15 and 10 would probably translate to today as well. Sikma seemed like a solid passer, so maybe you'd be looking at an Al Horford kind of player with that sort of impact?

He would be a very effective stretch five in today's game. For a player his size (6'11-7'0), he was ahead of his time in that sense. Toward the end of his career, he really embraced the three ball. At 33 years old, he hit 82 3's in that season. At that time, it was unheard of for a 7'0 center to use the three as a weapon like that. Plus he was also a great rebounder and among the best passing centers of his era. Hell he was even a good defender as well. In many ways, he would be the PERFECT stretch 5 in today's game. He wasn't an alpha dog level scorer, but was still a very good scorer. And if teams wanted to go small, he was good enough in the paint to make teams pay. BUT he could still spread the floor great at the same time with his shooting.

He'd be Marc Gasol with rebounding.

Current Horford is probably a pretty good comparison. Better on the glass, not quite the passer. Overall a top 10 type big, Allstar level guy.

Probably a way better Brook Lopez on offense

Not a Lopez fan by any imagination, but Brook has a far more developed post game than Sikma ever did (that behind the ear jumper was not terribly efficient) and in addition has developed a nice 3 point shooting game. Sikma is clearly better at rebounding and defense and is a better passer to boot, but Lopez's scoring more than balances that if looking ONLY at offense.
