I was talking with my buddy who is a Suns fan and he said he wouldn't trade Devin Booker straight up for Jayson Tatum. As a Celtics fan I might be biased in thinking Tatum is far more valuable but what do you guys think?

Booker is the better prospect in a far worse situation. This website, and people in general, are so short-sighted that they can only remember the last month (many claiming Horford a top 5 player, people thinking Boston would beat Golden State in the finals when they were up 2-0 against Cleveland).

Difficult to compare them considering their situations, but to me Booker has more potential.

Tatum comfortably.

Agree for the most part, but uh... Boston over Golden State wasn't even close to a popular opinion.

So far Jayson performed on the better stage, while Booker hasn't really been on any big stage (6th man on Kentucky, got bounced back Frank Kaminsky). I'd choose Tatum right now.

Tatum is younger and probably a better all around player. Booker has high value though.

Tatum pretty easily to me, not a Booker fan at all.

Lately, I've been converging to the opinion that the situation a prospect lands in makes up for 50% of his development. I doubt Tatum and Brown would be this good right now if drafted by another team.

That's why I keep saying I don't think Ayton and the Suns are a good fit, as that team has a sh*tty culture and what Ayton needs is discipline and a winning environment.

Had Booker ben drafted by another team, I think this poll would be a lot closer. I think they're pretty even when it comes to value. I think I might give the edge to Tatum because of the length and the defense, which contrarests Booker's slight advantatge in playmaking.

I could see Booker being an all NBA guy, but I don't think it'll happen. His defense is really bad. His upside is really based on his athletic ability which tells me shorter career.

Then you get into the contract difference and to me Tatum having more years on the rookie scale really tips it in his favor.

Julius Randle doesn't move the needle when you are comparing all-nba potential players.

That's the tier I see Randle on.

You could pick either Booker or Tatum. Without contract, idk who I would pick. Including contracts I'd give it to Tatum.

Booker may be a better fit on certain teams.

Oh, the good ol' "Booker vs young player on my team" comparison thread.

Wiggins, LaVine, Murray, Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, Fournier, D'Angelo Russell, Frank Kaminsky, Mitchell, Rodney Hood, Jayson Tatum... Who's gonna be next?

Tatum is younger and hasn’t developed any of the bad habits Booker had. Not sure I want either as my #1 creator, but Tatum looks like he relishes playing D, slashing hard, good shots etc on top of all his natural tools.

Tatum - more chance at this point of becoming an MVP winner type of talent and Booker has to get paid the max soon.

Tatum already showed he can play within a system - and he's also a good defender while booker is trash.

Tatum was a better rookie than Booker.
