Positions don't matter, all that matters is who you can defend and who you can play good offense on. How well a player matches up against another player is all the matters.

Marion is a small forward in terms of the who he should be guarding at the elite level if LeBron and Durant are playing small forward. I would rather have him guarding LeBron and Durant than Garnett and Duncan.

It’s for a forum project where we rank the top 10 defenders at each position. So we need a position to group them properly.

Marion and Rodman- small forwards. The other two I honestly have no idea.
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o

I voted AK47 SF, Gus PF, Rodman PF and Marion SF. I think it's their natural position, even tough they can play at both.

I feel like AK47, Gus and Marion are all natural SF's if you examine their skill set. They are all capable of sliding to PF, but their skills are just more optimal for a SF. They are all more perimeter players that can play inside in certain matchups. Similar to LeBron James or Kawhi Leonard.

Rodman is a player that liked doing the dirty work. He was a scrappy player that liked to be near the basket to get easy buckets and grab boards. Sure he can slide to SF no problem. He could guard all 5 positions. Arguably the most athletic player on those 90's Bulls teams. But defining his skill set, I think he is most optimal as a PF.

When the careers are split among multiple positions like that, I always err to the side of where their natural skill set places them.

Why not just have them in at both positions? I think that case definitely needs to be made for Rodman.
