Absurd contract. Golden State got themselves a good one.

I thought they signed him to that deal so they could trade him for Wiggins.

Looks like another KG thread ends up with the Looney Tunes attempting to de-value certain statistics to bring down KG rather than attack KG as a player.

More serious than you are judging by your looney tunes comment. There's a reason the phrase there are "lies, damned lies, and statistics" is popular. You seem to be making light of the concerns and not taking them seriously.

If you ever want to discuss the merits of basketball without a clear-cut Golden State Warrior bias I will be more than welcome to entertain a discussion. Until then you can keep saying Klay Thompson is better than Chris Paul and I will keep getting weird looks from co-workers as to why I laugh so much at work.

Man I was really looking forward to a LeBron || Davis || Cousins lineup this year, but DeMarcus might be done as a serviceable player. Could be out of the league real soon. Sad.

I'm bummed on Cousins going down as well, but think the Lakers might be better off for it, more AD at the 5 is a good thing for them.

AD at the 5 is a blessing in disguise. Most of the guys who played both 4/5 have been as productive or moreso at the 5 with less burdens offensively. All of KG, Duncan, Pau, Green and Aldridge have excelled at the 5.

I get why some people think it might work out better for the lakers but I definately disagree. AD at the 5 is great but cousins and AD were a good pairing (iirc without rondo their offensive rtg was 115 together or something) because cousins is such a good playmaker for a center + outside of last year he could stretch the floor as well.

His defense isnt bad either, last year with GS pre quad injury it was solid. Hes just a liability in the pick and roll which hurts more for the playoffs

It really sucks but hopefully he can come back from this

Cousins' front court playmaking would have allowed the Lakers to get away with having no play makers in the back court. Now, if they want to play their best lineups (meaning no Rondo) then LeBron will be their only playmaker. This likely means AD gets pushed to the 5, which is good, but also that Rondo sees more floor time to be a secondary playmaker next to LeBron.

If he is who we think he is AD should be okay as the secondary playmaker behind LeBron in those lineups.

Yep. The man was averaging 4.4 apg before he got benched and his assist percentage last year was the same as KG's career average and just short of the career highs of guys like Duncan. And remember they had a top 5 offense before he was benched. Davis should be just fine.

Rooting for it just for the jokes.

Not sure who this applies to more, the Lakers or Dwight.
