Kobe was a better player at 30 than 22. 2009 Kobe would slaughter the Kings defense. 2009 Lakers matchup pretty well with those Kings. Pau would be the Kings' best player. I voted Lakers but it is pretty close.

Kings - That Kings team was really deep. Looking at it by player
Mike Bibby vs Derek Fisher
Doug Christie vs Kobe Bryant
Peja Stojakovich vs Trevor Ariza
Chris Webber vs Pau Gasol
Vlade Divac vs Andrew Bynum

Turkoglu vs Odom off the bench

I think Webber often gets underrated because of how he played. He was very fast and strong for a guy his size, with excellent handles. Pau/Kobe may be the better duo, but their playmaking wasn't nearly as good for the 'others' as Webber/Bibby. Peja/Divac/Turkoglu were all elite in that offense whereas Fisher Ariza and Bynum did basically nothing.

It appears you are sleeping on or ignoring Odom here.

That Lakers team is one of the best championship teams I've seen, they would beat those Kings.

Odom is very good for a bench player - but Turkoglu isn't bad, and I don't know if he can make up the difference.

Well Pau Gasol is significantly better than Divac/Peja for a multitude of reasons here and Kobe is significantly better than Webber.

Ultimately it comes down to how you view the rest of the guys (or maybe the top guys, idk) but for me it looks something like this at an individual level.

Kobe
(gap)
(another gap)
Webber
Gasol
(gap)
Peja/Divac/Christie
Odom/Ariza

I think a great argument can be has that Ariza belongs with the Kings trio in terms of how he impacted the game as he was crucial defensively on the wing and helped space the floor (while being tremendous in the post-season).

Ultimately I'm not the type of person to say "Hey man, Peja would have taken 12+ 3PA Game in 2019" because the 2002 Kings should play like the 2002 Kings while the 2009 Lakers should play like the 2009 Lakers.

I like the star power of the Lakers going 7/8 deep in a 7 game series but it is a series that goes 7 and has multiple OT games.

2002 Kings were 1pt from taking out the SHAQ AND KOBE Lakers in the midst of a 3peat. Now you want to know if they could beat the Pau and Kobe Lakers?

Who do you think would win between the 2002 Lakers and the 2009 Lakers?

2002 Kings. And it probably wouldn't take 7.

I’m going 2009 lakers. They match up well with those kings teams. Also keep in mind the 2009 lakers have home court. They won 65 games compared to the 61 games the 2002 kings won. The 2002 lakers win 57 games which is why they didn’t have HC

So close.
Player 8 Pollard is matched by Luke Walton
But player 7 Bobby Jackason has a clear edge over Jordan Farmar.
There it is; Kings win in 7 because of Bobby Jackson

You are underrating 2009 Lakers.

- Kobe in 2009 was far superior than he was in 2002.

- Gasol and Odom had length that bothered 08 Duncan, i'm sure they give Webber problems as well.
