eminence wrote:The Lakers are not running an 11 man playoff rotation. At least 1-2 guys will get cut form the rotation. Possibly playing AD at the 5 more and dropping one of the McGee/Howard and certainly a few of the guards will fall out of the rotation.

I can see it being around ten, with the Waiters/ JR slot taking the DNP/ situational plugin role.

McGee and Howard will still play, but I can see their minutes being reduced to around 10-12 minutes (with the bulk of the big man minutes going to Davis, Morris, James and Kuzma).

KCP 26, Rondo 22
Green 28, Caruso 20
James 40, Kuzma 8
Davis 12, Morris 22, Kuzma 14
McGee 10, Howard 12, Davis 26

The way the roster is set up, I don’t see the rotation dropping below 9 players.

Basically, Simmons pitched this idea, but Lebron's crew either cut him off or had this in the making without Bill. So right after Decision, Simmons went apesh*t, and hates him till this day

So his post Decision article about LeBron's lack of a father figure causing him to do a narcissistic televised Decision was not only racist but also hypocritical?

I hope JR and Dion get some minutes during the remaining games of the season to see if they have any value for the postseason. I think there's some real upside with Dion.

Imagine he does hit a finals game winner though, what a comeback it would be from 2018.

jr's gonna hit what people think is a game winner, but kyle korver is gonna step up to get his revenge with a buzzer beater

Or even better, hit all three foul shots after a totally unnecessary foul by... JR

Anything is better than Rondo, unless he can turn back the clock 8 years back

According to ESPN, Lou Will is still undecided about returning to basketball. Do you guys think the Lakers actually benefit strategically with him on the court? The Lakers had a lot of success attacking him last matchup. While The Lou/Trez combo is potent offensively they’re easily exploited defensively and Lou Will is kinda redundant with PG and Kawhi.

Without Lou, the Clippers have the same issue the Lakers do with lack of a good creator in non-starter units. He's also the 2nd on the team in minutes per game so its not true that he is redundant. The Lou - Trez combo adds enough to equate to a third star for them.

I doubt he doesn't play, but if he does sit out I don't see how the Clippers can beat the Lakers, he's really there only perimeter creator other than PG and Kawhi on a team filled with role players. Besides, the Clippers have other small players for the Lakers to exploit like Jackson, Shammet, Bev they have to give minutes to.

Lou is a legitimately horrible defender, and can be contained, maybe even stopped just by forcing him to his right.

Lou Williams was the worst defender in last years playoffs most likely. Definitely worst at high minutes anyway.

If Lou doesn’t play, I don’t think the Clippers can win it all. Lou is one of their best scorers off the bench. He might be a liability on defense, but the Clippers mainly need him to be a scorer.

Pelinka talked about how Dwight may still not be coming, but he is optimistic

I am getting nervous

C'mon Dwight, we need you

I feel like Vogel would only play AD at center for significant minutes if Dwight doesn’t show.

If Dwight doesn't play I really think LA's title chances go out the window. They can handle losing Avery but not Dwight's 19 mpg imo. AD can't play too many minutes at center if they want to preserve his health and McGee can only be used in shorter doses because of his breathing problems and frankly his bball IQ limitations. This really sucks. Also, not a fan AT ALL of the JR signing. People who didn't watch the Cavs the last few years don't realize how bad of a defender JR has become and his shooting isn't good enough anymore to justify it.

Lou is playing, damn

We need Dwight to play, small margins make the difference in these games

Who was taking care of Dwight's kid most of the time (yes I know he has multiple), was it just the baby mom?

Not surprised.

Everyone that matters on the contenders are playing.

Except the ones on the Lakers (that is).

Bradley is gone, Howard will probably follow, then probably another random out the blue (for good measure).

...

If every contender brings in all their parts, Bradley is going to start looking bad. People can claim his actions to be justified all they want, but if all the other contending players sacrifice for the game (and their teammates), he will look bad.
