Yeah I'm not mad. Rondo's legitimately the worst player in the NBA

The stars are aligning

We may have been saved

If Dion or JR can be good, I feel like we’re going to take this all

KCP, DG, Lebron, AD, McGee
Caruso, Dion/Jr, Kuzma, Kieff, Dwight

If Kuzma and Kieff can’t hit shots, more Dion and JR

 This is terrible news for the Lakers as we need all the ball handlers we can get who the hell runs the offence if LeBron rests on the bench in the playoffs.

Rondo isn't that guy...
Have you watch the Lakers this season?
Have you seen any of his advanced metrics?
He is legit our worst rotation guy
Awful shooter and teams sag off him, bad defender, hesitates to try to score, dribble dribble dribble

The only thing worse than Rondo is a rusty Rondo returning for round 2 after missing 6-8 weeks. I have no confidence that theyll bury him, theyll try and shoehorn him in and plop him right into a dangerous series

Lebron had a week in 2018 where he played game 6-7 ecf and game 1 of the finals averaging 44/11/9 on 54/50/76

Probably my #1 pick for a hypothetical basketball tournament with every player that ever played competing. Control of the game was unreal

Now that is scary

But who knows?

Maybe AC, Dion, and JR are on such a roll that we don't mess with it and everyone understands

Was hoping this would be a 3 month injury

Maybe he gets a small setback?

There was another adjustment to the RPM formula. LeBron now at +9.8 and +3.7 in DRPM, third best in the NBA. Giannis now at +10.31.

LeBron’s RPM numbers will drop once he plays some games without Rondo because part of what makes Bron’s RPM numbers so good is how well HE does with Rondo playing while everyone else on the Lakers plays terribly. Additionally, in almost every three player unit that’s played any type of minutes at all for the Lakers this year, player X + player Y + LeBron does enormously better than player X + player Y + someone else. Some samples:

Davis + Caruso ON, LeBron OFF: 309 possessions, 109.7 ORtg, 112.2 DRtg, -2.5 NET
Davis + Caruso ON, + LeBron ON: 229 possessions, 119.2 ORtg, 96.8 DRtg, +22.4 NET

Rondo + Howard ON, LeBron OFF: 172 possessions, 111.0 ORtg, 124.9 DRtg, -13.9 NET
Rondo + Howard ON, + LeBron ON: 324 possessions, 112.9 ORtg, 101.2 DRtg, +11.7 NET

Davis + Kuzma ON, LeBron OFF: 311 possessions, 106.8 ORtg, 118.5 DRtg, -11.7 NET
Davis + Kuzma ON, +LeBron ON: 232 possessions, 118.1 ORtg, 96.8 DRtg, +21.3 NET

Green + Bradley ON, LeBron OFF: 132 possessions, 110.0 ORtg, 107.2 DRtg, +2.8 NET
Green + Bradley ON, +LeBron ON: 1515 possessions, 113.5 ORtg, 103.5 DRtg, + 10.0 NET

Davis + McGee ON, LeBron OFF: 121 possessions, 101.7 ORtg, 114.9 DRtg, -13.2 NET
Davis + McGee ON, LeBron ON: 1503 possessions, 115.0 ORtg, 106.1 DRtg, +8.9 NET

His robust defensive impact numbers are still hard to fathom and explain.

Roster makeup explains his offensive value....its a team full of play finishers who rely almost completely on Lebron's passing/decision-making to function. But defensively, it doesn't make sense for his on-off numbers to be so dramatic.

The offensive numbers were starting to turn around before the shut down; but the defensive numbers remained largely the same

LeBron is basically the only true 3/4 on the team who actually understands how to play defense, I don't think it's really that surprising.

I was rewatching those last week. Never seen a player that good at every facet of the game. His offense was unreal that year.

People like to say a lot of about LeBron but you can never accuse this man of ever not being in shape

Only a few possessions so far, but clearly still needs to ramp up physically.

Both teams seem to be treating this like a regular season game so far, not exhibition.

D Waiters sighting.

Looked pretty good out there to me. The Lakers are so much more watchable without Rondo, such an upgrade with Dion taking his minutes.

How long do you think these guys stay on a treadmill a day? Or is it running up and down the court that keeps them in shape?

Actually looked better early in quarantine when he let it grow without shaping it up.

As for what's happening on the court, Dion looked solid out there. He has many foibles but I can't imagine a scenario where he's worse than Rondo.

Kuzma is going to piss me off in the Playoffs, isn't he?

Hopefully Morris can step up, though i'm not really a big fan of his either, and he was pretty terrible in those few games he played for the Lakers.

Didn't watch. How big of problems are Dion and JR gonna be?

Not big. JR didn't get any non garbage time minutes, from what I recall, and Dion was a positive, if only for the fact that he's an improvement on Rondo.

Kuzma on the other hand is still pressing a lot. His handle still seems shaky, which I think is his biggest weakness for the play style he seems to want to play.
