Was there a reason CarusoGOAT didn’t play? Lakers’ 5 our offense looked very good out there. The absence of Rondo by default was a win for the Lakers.

Edit: Thank you, Homer38.

LA's defense looks suffocating. No Rondo to pick on anymore.

Kuzma looks good. And AD remains a monster.

The way the refs are carrying the Magic in this game is utterly ridiculous.

Dion, surprisingly, seems shy to shoot. He already seems to have a good chemistry with Dwight in the pick and roll, and once he starts being aggressive with his shot, it'll look really good against second units, imo.

I like how he and Caruso look as a combo guard back court tandem (off the bench).

They need to get some reps on the court together.

First things first, the Lakers need to find a way to cover up the bullseye the refs painted on Caruso in order to get those reps.

JR did some good things defensively in that first half. His length on the perimeter could be useful with the Lakers shot blocking behind him.

On a side note: I hope Davis does not have an eye laceration (or something), that will require him leaving the bubble to see a specialist.

That would be unfortunate.

He was 10-13 for 25 points today...If he is more consistant, the lakers will be much better.

There's not much to take away from this game. The Magic are the worst/2nd worst team in the playoffs.
East #1 Draft Picks: Fultz, Banchero, Wiggins, Cuninigham
West #1 Draft Picks: Edwards, WIlliamson, Ayton, Towns

Lakers are/were? 22-2 this season when Kuzma makes 30%+ of his threes.

—In Lakers’ wins: 62/193, 32.1% (not great)
—In Lakers’ losses: 8-43, 18.6% (horrific).
—39 of these 43 threes were either open looks or wide open looks. In Lakers’ losses in which hes played, he’s shooting 17.6% on wide open threes, 22.7% on open threes. 77% of these threes are catch and shoot. He’s shooting 0% on pull ups in losses, and only 18.6% on pull up 3s in wins.

Obviously a gross oversimplification but given his spot in the the Lakers’ rotation, minutes, and usage, if he makes the wide open shots LeBron generally generates for him, Lakers become very difficult to defeat.

Even with that trash shooting, LeBron+Kuzma are a robust +13.9 per 100 possessions on court, and in wins, LBJ/Kuz pairing is the Lakers’ 2nd best at +20.7 per 100 possessions (behind only James+Caruso at +29.7 per 100 possessions).

Kuzma with LeBron OFF court: 567 minutes, 22.1% 3P, 48.1% TS
Kuzma with LeBron ON court, 759 minutes, 34.3% 3P, 56.3% TS

LeBron looks a bit slow/flat at finishing around the rim, but he’s just getting warm up
Thanks for all the great memories, LeBron! The show must go on! #Heatnation

Yeah, a lot of people were saying he looked great in the Dallas scrimage but to me his conditioning looked a good bit worse than what it was post-ASB. He seemed to be exerting himself a lot but he clearly didn't have the same burst or bounce. Hopefully he can get back to where he was before the WCF

Elgee's video comparing LeBron and Kawhi on defense. He ultimately sides with Kawhi because of consistency.
