KUZ!

This game is hella annoying but nice to see Vogel run the play for Kuz.

Kuz has been great in the bubble. Put this Kuzma on the March Lakers and they'd be the clear favorites.

He really doesn't suck anymore.

Honestly astonishing. He's actually good on defense and seems to have fixed his jumper (wasn't that worried about that). But my god the fact that he's good on defense means he'll play. Still hops around but his size and length and athleticism combined with his improved IQ/ positioning has made him good.

Nice to see non LA fans realize his defense is actually not bad, actually good at times in man situations

He needs to remain in the starting lineup, McGee needs to be removed.

KCP
Green
James
Kuzma
Davis

It’s time.

...

On a side note.

I love how the reporters run to LeBron to ask him about the challenges of playing in the bubble (with no fans).

Hunting for that bash fest soundbite. LeBron wised up and gave them a nothing burger.

What do you guys think our starting and finishing unit should be?

And who are the 9-10 guys in rotation?

I think Kuzma may need to start over DG

KCP, Kuzma, Bron, AD, Mcgee (10-12 min a night max)
AC, Dion, Green, Kieff, Dwight
Cook/Rondo as the wild card 11th guy

If the bench unit had to lose 1 guy: AC or Kieff depending on the matchup.
Dwight has shown his value the whole year
Dion is the 2nd best shot creator/ball handler
Green is still a good team defender who can get hot from 3, hoping he turns it around

AC's shooting is worrying me rn
Kieff is whatever, decent tonight

It was though. His body is built so he's just kind of upright which makes him such a good run jump guy in a straight line. Combine that with the fact that he displayed no effort and IQ meant he was kind of a pylon when he wasn't trying (LakersFilmRoom did point out that he was better at guarding wings than forwards due to lack of strength but I didn't see it because of his piss poor effort)

But he's athletic and has good size. Getting into a stance and coaching staff helping him with some fundamentals has really made him pretty good.

Green finally showed life after the Nuggets started matchup hunting him in the third quarter. That woke him up.

I would leave him in the starting unit. McGee needs to go.

Starters:

Davis

Bench:

Caruso
Waiters
Rookie
Morris
Howard

Closers:

Caruso
Green/ KCP
James
Kuzma

I wouldn't mind that either, but I feel like Mcgee can get some minutes so AD is not too tired banging around with bigs

Caruso closing has shown to work, but I don't know if I trust him to hit that open 3. I do trust him to play solid team defense though and come up with big defensive and effort plays

Is Dion a possible closer?

THT shouldn't get serious minutes in the playoffs, but he can play in blowouts

Vogel has a lot of questions to figure out

Just an arbitrary box score statistical milestone, but LeBron clinched a double-digit assist year tonight. At the very worst, 10.1 on the year provided he plays the final game and doesn't register an assist.

Dion has good chemistry with Davis but he is a questionable fit with LeBron. I would roll with Caruso because he will play good defense and he will not do anything stupid to hurt you (at the very least).

Rookie will not play, I just needed someone to fit in that depth chart slot.

The postseason rotation will be 9-10 players, with James and Davis playing close to 40 minutes per game.

Rondo will be in the lineup when he returns. This you can trust. That will either be the end of Waiters or a demotion of Caruso.

Regardless of what we think, the lineup will likely be:

KCP/ Rondo
Green/ Caruso
James/ Kuzma
Davis/ Morris
McGee/ Howard

Closers (with Rondo):

KCP/ Rondo/ Caruso/ Waiters
Green/ KCP
James
Kuzma/ Morris
Davis

LeBron 38-40
Davis 36-38
Kuzma 26-30
KCP 24-28
Green 24-26
Rondo 20
Caruso 16-20
Howard 14-18
Morris 12-18
McGee 10-14

Great addition to the career book.

I have been keeping tabs on this, as well as the 25 ppg season scoring streak and the double digit scoring games streak.

These little milestones add to a players legend once the book is closed.

Catching Kareem (if he can) will be the finishing touch to a spectacular career in numbers.

Really hoping Rondo doesn't get many minutes

Dion has shown us some good things, he is the only guard on this team you can throw the ball to and he can create some sort of points for you

AC won't hurt you in that he won't go crazy like Dion, but he does hurt you by missing good looks

I think my closing 5 is:

KCP, DG, Kuzma, Bron, AD

https://stats.nba.com/lineups/advanced/?Season=2019-20&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&TeamID=1610612747&sort=NET_RATING&dir=1&CF=MIN*GE*30

If AC is in, he kind of hurts the spacing

If we had Avery, we could have also ran the 3 guard lineup. Avery at least gave us that mid range shot off the pick
Avery, 2 of KCP, DG, AC, Lebron, AD

Bron/KCP/DG/Kuz/AD should be the best lineup going forward. Shooting might wax and wane at times but this is the most versatile lineup and provides the most spacing. Kuz and DG looked sharp offensively today.

Is it even possible for rockets to finish third?
