Yes it is very interesting the more footage I saw of Wilt the more I think of him as the Goat or at least the most talented player ever he is just amazing to watch.

Wilt looks on film like any of your athletes from eras gone past, a pioneer. Couldn't complete in today's game. His athleticism looks good to those small white guys from the 60s but he has nothing on a guy like AD today. He would he similar to say Kwame Brown in the mid 2000s probably.

Get out of this thread if you think that you seriously have no basketball knowledge especially about Wilt who for the record would eat Ad and every other centre playing today in the Nba alive.

I say a player who at the age of 36 with bad-knees could block the skyhook and rebound still like a monster would dominate in this era if he was in his prime.

Bill Russell the greatest defender in Nba history regularly got torched by Wilt even though he had 2 to 3 guys helping him most times against Wilt and with today's rules favouring the offence so much. A prime Wilt would love it if he could use his strength in the post. And get away with travels and offensive fouls as Lebron and Giannis do.

Hey, 70's fan would it be alright if you look in to see if they have any more of Wilt's warrior games or 76er games and as for the Lakers games that you couldn't get because of the Nba please message me or the guy.

To see the dates of the Laker's games as I am pretty sure that I can get permission from the Nba about that so that I and you can watch those Laker's clips.

I will let you know later, but I remember that there was one game from 1971 WCF.

Hi, could you please ask NBA about the two games that are included in this Kenny Sears video?

The one is definitely Wilt's 73 points game and these Sears clips prove that they have full game. The other is from Knicks vs Hawks game, I don't know the date but it's also likely to be a full game and I'd love to have at least one Pettit/Hagan game in my collection.

Also, do you have any news? Did you get the permission from Wilt's family?

Just wanted to say you guys are what made this forum great. If you can get Wilt 1967 clips that would be great. One of the greatest peak all time imo.

I'm really glad to see some success in getting new footage from the NBA. And that there's people in the NBA who are willing to help. I really appreciate the time and effort you two have given to follow through with this.

I understand that the retrieval of these games costs money. If so I could possibly help in financing this project.

If I helped, one thing I would be very interested in is new Kareem footage. Do you think your contacts have access to Kareem footage? I understand if you are only interested in Wilt footage. I wouldn't mind covering all the costs for the recovery of Kareem footage in addition to helping with the costs of recovering Wilt footage.

Please let me know what you think. We can exchange emails in a PM for further discussion.

I stopped working with NBA archives for a while, but coastalmaker still tries to do that as far as I know.

I'd love to get more Kareem footage as well, especially against Wilt (I know they have most of 1971 series). My dream matchup would be Gilmore vs Kareem from late 1970s as well as Kareem vs Thurmond from the early 1970s.

They usually ask for a permission to get the footage, so it's possible that we'd have to reach Abdul-Jabbar himself. His persmission would help us a lot.

I wonder, would you like to ask the archive for Kareem footage? As I said, I have a break in working with them. I can give you contact e-mail, I could also try to get the permission. What do you think about it?

Coastalmarker99, in case you're wondering, this is in NO WAY a manipulation to respond to my latest request on the other post.

However, I would certainly appreciate it if you could possibly give me a short list of complete Wilt games you so far know for certain the Archive Department has available(or however long a list you feel comfortable listing here):

Phi. Warriors
SF Warriors
Phi. 76ers
LA Lakers

(I would specify certain games that I have interest in, but since I'm not certain yet what the league office does & doesn't have available, I feel it's best to await your list.)

Thanks again for your assistance; you are a Godsend in so many ways.

Just curious coastalmaker: as you've probably noticed by now, yes, I certainly have requested a number of games,
not just for full game footage, but also, first & foremost, Wilt's block totals in selected games.

I completely understand & respect the fact that you're daily responsibilities can be rather exhausting at times,
I'm not attempting to make your life any more exhausting & taxing like I'm certain it already may be,
however, I was wondering 1) if perhaps I could email you for this, & future similar requests,
2)If I was to email you future date requests, how many could you accept at once,
3)if for whatever reason you don't feel right about giving your email online like this,
then how many date requests(for Wilt's blocks) do you believe you could handle at once?

Thanks again.

Alright here are some games from Wilt's rookie season that I know the Nba archives have footage of

Sat, Oct 24, 1959, vs New York Knicks which was Wilt's first-ever game in the Nba and he dropped 43 points and grabbed 28 rebounds to go along with his 15 to 17 blocks that night and he also stood outside the arena interacting with the fans and media for about an hour after the game had ended.

Nov. 4, 1959 vs SYR which was the first game that Wilt ever played against Syr which was a team he deeply hated the most along with the Hawks mainly due to the way that both teams played him which for the record was intensely dirty and physical.

Sat, Nov 7, 1959, vs the Boston Celtics which was the first game that Wilt ever played in the Boston garden and matched up against Russell who did a great defensive job on him this game to his credit and as a result of this he was heavily praised by the press through Wilt did say that he thought Russell's performance on him this game was overrated.

Sat, Nov 14, 1959, vs the Minneapolis Lakers in which Wilt faced Baylor and the Lakers for the first time ever in his career through Wilt did shoot awful from the field during this game 10 from 33 he did to his credit grab 33 rebounds and block 11 shots as the Warriors won 104 to 98.

St. Louis Hawks at Philadelphia Warriors November 20, 1959, in which Wilt struggled against the Hawks dirty and extreme physical tactics that they employed against him under the orders of coach Ed Macauley. and as a result of this the Warriors would lose 118 to 117 with the main reason being that Wilt only shot 32 percent from the field this game.

Philadelphia Warriors @ the Boston Celtics November 25, 1959, In which Wilt dominated Russell in a 10 point Warriors win by posting 45 points on him and also grabbing 35 rebounds to go along with his 10 plus blocks compared to Russell who had only 15 points on 36 per cent shooting to go along with his 13 rebounds for the game.

Boston Celtics at Philadelphia Warriors November 26, 1959, in which Wilt once again dominated the Celtics in a 13 point Warriors win by posting 49 points and grabbing 33 rebounds to go along with his 12 blocked shots.

Philadelphia Warriors at New York Knicks, November 28, 1959, in which at a sold-out garden crowd who came once again to see Basketball's newest megastar the Warriors would win 109 to 108. But the real story of this game was how much more intense and physical New york's defence was against Wilt who had utterly embarrassed during his debut game they would limit him to only 28 points on 37 percent shooting from the floor to go along with his 21 rebounds and 8 blocked shots.

Philadelphia Warriors at St. Louis Hawks December 5, 1959, in which once again the Hawks extreme physical tactics would severely bother Wilt who had a shocking night in front of a very hostile crowd as he would only post 20 points on 31 percent shooting from the field to go along with his 21 rebounds and 10 blocked shots.

Philadelphia Warriors at St. Louis Hawks December 19, 1959, in which for the third time in a row the Hawks would shut down Wilt offensively by using their extreme physical tactics against him which caused Wilt to once again shoot 30 percent against them through to his credit Wilt did nail 12 out of 15 free throws from the line to go along with his 21 rebounds and 12 blocked shots.

Boston Celtics at Philadelphia Warriors, January 2, 1960, in which Wilt dominated Russell once again in a one-point Warriors win 118 to 117 the key to the win was Wilt posting 47 points and also shooting 11 out of 14 from the foul line plus also crushing Russell on the boards 36 to 22.

Philadelphia Warriors at Boston Celtics January 17, 1960, In which Wilt once again dominated Russell by posting 43 points and 26 rebounds compared to Russell who only had 13 points on 21 shots to go along with his 21 rebounds. However despite Wilt's domination of Russell during this entire game the Celtics would end winning 129 to 123 as a result of Bill Sharman who scored 31 points on 60 percent shooting to lead the Celtics to the win.

Boston Celtics at Philadelphia Warriors, January 29, 1960, nearly two weeks later the two teams would meet for a rematch through this time the Warriors would win at home 124 to 116 as a result of Wilt once again dominating Russell who seemed helpless to stop him as Wilt posted 43 points to go along with his 39 rebounds and 11 blocked shots.

Philadelphia Warriors vs Boston Celtics, February 23, 1960, 2 weeks after Wilt had suffered a serious facial injury that nearly had killed him against the Hawks on Feb 7. Wilt would face the Celtics once again and would utterly dominate Russell and give the fans a show they would never forget by posting 53 points to go along with his 29 rebounds and 10 plus blocked shots that night as the Warriors won 126 to 108 at home.
Reggie Jackson is amazing and a killer in the clutch that's all.
