Kyrie is hard to rate for me. Bc put him in a 7 game series with any pg and at worst its 50/50 he outplays them

I'd definitely take him over Melo tho

He was on fire against Steph Curry, to say that at a minimum against any PG it's a 50 50 he will out play him sounds rather premature. He has barely even had any playoff series to speak of, and most series he was apart in his team was the overwhelming favorite.

He has barely even played any great PGs in a 7 game series. Pretty much just Curry and Lowry, so I would say it's certainly not a 50/50 at a minimum he's going to out play other all nba pgs. Most of the best PGs of the past few years are in the West, so there's no evidence to support this statement other than his finals series which is...well, sample size (as good as he was that post season he was equally bad in 2019).

Kyrie. Think most metrics have his peak as higher

Yeah it's interesting that feels almost glossed over, the metrics part.

I think they've always been compared, but Kyrie is obviously the much better playmaker (better than people realize, he's got good enough vision and passing ability to be a real point guard) and even relative to era, he's a more efficient player because he's a better shooter. By the numbers, he's really very close to that Steve Nash/Ray Allen level as a shooter.

I think it says something that his last 3.25 or so years without LeBron, his ws/48 has been .196 and his TS% has been right around 60% despite the varied offenses and situations.

On another note, Melo has been great on the Blazers, love seeing it.
