I sent you both a PM days ago, but I note they're still sitting in my Outbox. I'm wondering if maybe there's a site restriction where PM's are not allowed/accessible to you because you're so new.
You would have received a notification that you had received a PM. If you didn't get a notification, it must not be sent.

Alternately, you can click on my "trex_8063" name which should take you to my profile page. There [if you're allowed PM's] under the header "Contact trex_8063" there should be an option---> "PM: Send private message".

If you're not seeing that and didn't get my PM, it must not be an available option for you yet. Please let me know.

Couldn't send any PMs the first month after signing up. I do think you still receive PMs but you can't reply.

I do not believe in GOAT rankings, and I'd like to participate in this one.

Had private messaged a couple of you, but I have the feeling the PM feature is disabled because you're all so brand new to RealGM. So I have to contact you publicly in this manner. Anyway.....

Hi! And welcome to the PC Forum. Thank you all for your interest in the Top 100 Project (it is the project that draws interest from many new(ish) posters and regs alike). And to DeKlaw, thank you for also taking the time to post at length in the Criteria Thread (and sparsely in a few other threads).

As you're all fairly brand-new to the PC forum (for three of you, your request to join this project is your one and ONLY post on RealGM), we're going to ask that you participate in a trial period before being granted a counted vote, as per stipulations stated in the OP of this thread.

Basically we want you to join the discussion, state who your pick(s) would be, etc etc (basically participate as others posters/voters are); you just won't have a counted vote initially.
This allows us to evaluate you for genuine intent, adequate knowledge base, as well as your conduct/temperament. We'd also encourage you to join the discussion in other threads (this gives us greater opportunity to evaluate you, and could thus hasten the trial period).

Pending what we see during this trial period, you'll be officially added to the voter panel. The length of the trial period could be different from one to another, depending on the volume and quality of your participation on the PC Forum.

If you have questions, direct them to me or to penbeast0. Thanks again.....

I'll try my best to stay involved in this project as long as I can, but things will be getting busier for me about a month from now and I might have to take a break from this place depending on how busy that is. But for the time being, I'd be interested in being a part of this project and to participate as long as I can.

When are we starting this? Can I ask that we start in a week or so? I think this GOAT debate is about to get extra spicy this time around, and I think atleast some breathing room after the Finals would be good for everyone.

I can feel my motivation waning already. I've probably been too locked into the NBA since the bubble started. It might be a good idea for my mental health to step away for a while and go back to practicing guitar more seriously. So... either I'll be here or I won't.

In the meantime, please enjoy these highlights of the greatest big man of (at least) the last 30 years:

I would like to vote, applying the knowledge and research ive gathered over the last few years to argue sounds fun as well as potentially learning things I didn't know before when arguing with other people that have done research.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. And thanks for your interest in the project.

Feel free to jump right in and join the discussion (and even state who your picks would be). As stated in the OP of this thread: because you're brand new and unknown to us, we're going to ask you to participate without a counted vote ["trial period"] initially, to give us a chance to evaluate your temperament and ability to debate in a respectful manner, general knowledge, and your "purity of intent".

The more you participate, the more we have to evaluate you by (and thus [potentially] the shorter your trial period will be). So hop in and get started (not just the project threads, but any other topics on the forum that interest you).

There should be had been a requirement that if you are going to be part of the project that at least you have to vote in the top 10. The votes went from 37 to 27 votes just from number 1 to number 2 and then 27 votes to 23 votes from 2 to 3. Which makes it seem that many signed up to vote for there guy and leave.
I know it is hard to commit to all 100, but I don’t think asking for the top 10 is asking too much.

If you remove all the people who voted for #1 and didn't vote for #2, LeBron still wins the vote.

That’s not my point. Just saying if you allowing people to just vote for one slot and then leave why should they be part of the project? Otherwise anyone could have signed up and just voted for the first spots and then left. Which isn’t the purpose of the project.

There's a number of people (myself including) who have missed some votes simply due to being busy with work. I don't know if it's reasonable to require people to vote in the first ten threads. I think the best solution is to extend the voting window by two days for the top-10. I probably would have been able to vote in each thread if the windows were 48 hours instead of 24 hours.
