Agree 100% on the lazy media narratives, but if we're being honest, has James actually deserved DPOTY consideration since 2013?

Not for the DPOY but his defense was legendary in the 2016 finals and he deserves more credit on that .... Last year he deserved more consideration for being in the All-NBA defense ...

Doubt it. He had a DPOY caliber year in 2016 and the narrative wasn’t changed

they got better if anything

Worse on offensive rebounds though right?

It is still early though, just nit picking

That’s to be expected when their starting center sets up at the elbows and spots up behind the three point line.

From a pure talent/ rebounding perspective, I do not think this is a better rebounding team. From the standpoint of functional team rebounding, they are better. Gasol and Harrell are both good at boxing out, and Gasol pulls his man (typically the best rebounder on the opposing team) away from the basket on offense.

Harrell (it seems) has upped his focus on rebounding. Since he gets fewer offensive opportunities on this team, he is playing more of a garbage man/ clean up role on the offensive glass to get his points. It reminds me of how he played in college.

Schroder is like playoff Rondo in his ability to anticipate, chase down and secure long rebounds as well. The difference is that he does it consistently in the regular season, and for more minutes.

Overall, I don’t think this team is worse on the boards then last season’s team. They are about the same.

———-

Last season’s team had bigs who could control the glass allowing for leak outs in transition. This season’s team has better floor spacing and better box out bigs allowing for better team rebounding opportunities.
Don't believe the hype...

DPOY is out of the question, but one of the All-D teams could be possible, and he'll also need the defense narrative to reverse to win MVP

Ever since coming to the Lakers, LeBron's been treating the Rockets like he used to treat the Raptors.

Rockets announcers are just gushing over LeBron today, complete opposite of Sunday.

Only the Clippers out West can stop the Lakers in a series this season.

Their bench isn't good enough.

Clippers starting 5 is legit but I don't trust any of their bench guys.

Kernnard in particular is food for playoff Bron

I guess that's why KCP is always indecisive on fast breaks

KCP just needs to go for a layup off the glass on every fastbreak.

Lou, Morris, Zubac, Kennard

They are starting Batum right now.

Also how Lakers get Spurs 3x in a week, back to back to Memphis and back to back to Houston. They should had gotten back to back to Milwaukee and 3x vs the Clippers in a week.
