New Thread
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

Lakers are still first on defense, but down to 17th in offense yikes. 4th in net rating.

How is Gasol still out? He last played on February 28th. Ridiculous protocols at this point.

At least 3 more weeks for AD.

I am good with that, even another 4,5, maybe 6 weeks if needed

It has been 1 month

KD took off a month and then came back and tore his Achilles right away...

I am not a medical expert, but can calf strains recover on there own or do they need surgery

And are calf strains different than Achilles strains?

We aren't winning anything with a hurt or compromised AD and if he were to get seriously hurt (*knocks on wood that he doesn't), that would likely be the end of the Lakers finals chances

Kuz is playing some great basketball lately. Great pass to Trezz there

Haven't really watched the Lakers this season, how come they have by far the best defensive rating with AD and Gasol missing so much time ? At first glance, there doesn't seem to be that many great defensive players on the roster.

Lakers' Trez is so undisciplined on the defensive end it's not even funny. Must have a negative impact on defensive rebounding and interior defense when Lebron isn't in the game. Bigs grab offensive rebounds over him so much because he forgets to box out a lot. How do you forget to box out as a front court player?

Vogel

Long history of coaching great defensive teams. Lakers always play hard.

I know Vogel is a great defensive coach, but I must say, I'm surprised.
Last year Lakers had a healthy AD + Dwight and JaVale paint presence + Green on the perimeter.
With those guys leaving and the addition of Schroder and Harrell, I thought there would be a defense for offense trade-off.

LeBron for the second straight season is having an all-NBA defense season. This is his third such season in the last six years with zero all NBA defensive teams to show for it.

On another note, it looks like the Lakers I figure they’re going to be without AD for a while and are running some different sets tonight and they’re working really really well. Curry has been really hot and the Warriors o have shot well from three but the Lakers are shooting 69% which is pretty crazy against a very good GS defense.

Guys do we look better w/o Marc or is GS this bad at times?

I know we need a legit big for Jokic and Embiid, but having a lob threat is nice.

Miss Dwight

Really wish we could swap Wes for a consistent 3 point shooter

Anyone pay attention to Garrison Matthews on the Wiz?

LeBron's simply a better offensive player than he was last regular season. He moves better and is a better shooter. This is generally the case with him after a championship season. 14>13>12 and 18>17>16.

There is literally no bigger compliment to LeBron’s play than if IG2 says he played well

This is the second longest he’s gone in a season in his career before posting a +25 or greater +/- game. He went 68 game in 2014. Most other seasons it was within the first 10 or 20 games. Solid game from the Lakers sans AD, Gasol, and Caruso.
