One month (or less) until Klay returns. Really hope he can play at an all-star level.

We clearly need a good wing, but Cleveland isn’t a destination location, we probably won’t finish in the bottom 5 this year unless injuries take over, and the roster lacks tradable assets since Okoro has looked so bad, Sexton’s injury and pending contraction extension leave him with little value, and our pick this year might be that great in a draft class that doesn’t seem to be that deep (yet) anyways.

Yeah, I can see that and this draft does indeed seem like it's very short on high-end wings. I'd say Jaden Ivey would be an amazing fit next to Garland, but he'd be a 2 and not a 3 in such a line-up – not sure if that's what you'd be looking for. But there seems to be a clear path to being a playoff team again very soon, and I think that's a great place to be in with such a young team even if you don't have all the pieces together yet.

I would absolutely love his fit here, as well. Beyond the passing and the athleticism, has an energetic aggression to him that I think the team needs considering Mobley, Garland, and Allen have more reserved demeanors. We would have a bit smaller of a backcourt, but considering we would be starting three 7 footers next to them, I don't think it would be much of an issue. Jabari Smith is a pipe dream, but man I would love him here too, replacing Lauri in our three big lineup experiment.

It’s gonna be a Suns\ Warriors vs Bucks Finals.

Nets are the only real threat if Kyrie comes back, but I wouldn’t count on it. Harden has fallen off a cliff athletically, and Durant can’t carry bums all season and still dominate deep in the playoffs. Miami might make noise but I’d still give the Bucks the edge. Chicago I wouldn’t really trust their offense, defense is solid though.

One injury to Steph and Dubs are done however, whereas Suns can weather it out if one of Book, CP, or Ayton misses time in the playoffs. Clips might make noise but they’ll get killed even if Kawhi comes back, he won’t be ready.

Hope we get a Suns Bucks Finals rematch, I’ve already seen a ton of Golden State in the finals lol but that series would be insane either way ( Suns Warriors and Warriors Bucks)

Warriors Bucks would be hella fun, smash mouth bully ball vs sweet motion offense enabled by Curry.

Team Defensive Rating with Player On-Court:

Mobley: 99.5
Draymond: 101.0
Giannis: 99.0
George: 103.0
Turner: 101.2
Gobert: 102.9
Jokic: 98.9
Adebayo: 101.0
Embiid: 102.3
Horford: 102.8

Defensive On-Off:

Mobley: -9.0
Draymond: +5.6
Giannis: -14.9
George: +8.2
Turner: -9.4
Gobert: +0.9
Jokic: -15.7
Adebayo: -4.8
Embiid: -7.3
Horford: -2.3

If Mobley keeps this up, is he going to make an All-Defensive Team? On a side note, Giannis is doing Giannis things. And damn Jokic...the voters will never give it to him but can he actually put together a full DPOY-caliber season?

Doesn't defensive on/off tell more about the defensive quality of the rest of the roster than how good the one player is?

Definitely a big part of it. If both your defensive on/off and your on-court DRTG are really good though, you’re probably a pretty impactful defender.

as of right now suns and warriors are the strongest teams but just like miami was the strongest team early in the season i want to remind that season is only a quarter in. slumps and hot streak to multiple teams may come and change the regular season Picture significatively

not to say anythingh of not knowing how injuries and mid seasons trades will change the landscape or which teams will click or have a slump right at the playoffs

for me my safe pick is still milwaukee, they already won a ring against the same suns team dominating right now amd did it so with awful shooting through the playoffs

they can win even if their shot is not falling which is a crucial thingh to be a le to fall on like the last 3 champions show

It's not just that the Warriors are 18-2...it's how they're winning. They're blowing out teams every night and sporting a +12 SRS. Other teams that went on short streaks never looked this dominant.

last year utah ? although you are right that if they keep the same pace all season they should be considered favorites

I'm amazed at how good the Warriors are.

Eerily similar to their 2014-2015 season honestly.

DeMarcus Cousins to the Bucks?? Surprising pickup from a neutral fan. Doesn't really seem like a good fit in their offense.

Probably more useful than Thanasis at least.

So, doing a MOV search on the best teams 20 games into the year in history (going back to '83-84), I see 5 teams ahead of them:

1. '15-16 Warriors
2. '93-94 Sonics
3. '07-08 Celtics
4. '08-09 Cavs
5. '96-97 Bulls

Utah last year ranks 106th (with a 15-5 record).

Obviously given that 3 of the 5 teams ahead of these Warriors didn't win the title, there are no guarantees, but these Warriors are indeed considerably more dominant so far than last year's Jazz or any recent team other than the Warriors themselves.

I think he can be their homeless man's Brook Lopez. Can shoot from distance and block/alter some shots. Slow as molasses, sure, but when your competition is Thanasis and Semi, the bar is probably not raised that high. Also, they probably don't want Giannis to wear out due to playing C in the RS (Portis is their only option for now).

There's no way Curry isn't a massive favourite for MVP right now, right?

In our offense he's Lopez with passing. Remains to be seen if he's still able to play D but Brook's got to be about as slow as him so he's a chance in the drop defense we use when Lopez is in. We don't need him to be much really, just a stop gap to soak up minutes so Giannis doesn't take so much of a beating. The competition right now is Thanasis or a second rounder named Mamu.

Boogie definitely can't play a lick of defense anymore, LOL.

All you can really expect from him at this point is the occasional fun play on offense, but you really can't play him that much (especially against good teams).
