I think I'd have all of CP3's prime seasons where he was mostly healthy above WB.

Without going into detail, I'd have a majority of prime seasons of CP3 over everything except 2017 Westbrook thrown into the mix in the bottom half of the top 10.

2016 westbrook was just as good as 2017

2013 (depending on how you penalize the injury) and 2015 are huge value seasons that i think belong in the convo too

Honestly I would rather have 18 and 21 Paul than any version of Russ, so my entire list is Paul unless you weight for missed games more

you guys are really low in 2016-2017 westvrook imo

2016 westbrook + durant + not particularly offensively talented role players led a dominant +8 offense when healthy, 2017 westbrook was mostly the same player in a bigger role

i easily take those two westbrook years over any non peak chris Paul year (2008,2009, 2013-2016 imo) and i could still take them over some those paul seasons

Paul and Harden anchored an offense that punched above its weight class as well in 2018.

Probably all CP3. Westbrook is just a negative impact player, a classic floor raiser but severely limits your ceiling kind of player.

I came into this thread expecting to see CP take up all 10 spots on most lists lol... this was a recipe for disaster, OP haha.

Westbrook finished higher than Paul back to back years in POY voting on here in 16 and 17. This idea that Paul should take up all 10 spots is just biased nonsense. I think Westbrook's play from 2018 on has hurt his perception a ton.

Maybe he is *now* but he was one of the two linchpins of a Thunder team that put up some historically strong seasons from 2012 to 2016, and if he/Durant hadn't been injured there's a reasonable chance that they'd have won a championship somewhere.

Westbrook isn't perfect, and he's way more of a floor-raiser than a ceiling-raiser, but we saw teams built around him be extraordinary. You may be selling him short.

Chris Paul was definitely better than Russell Westbrook in 2017. POY is narrative based just like the MVP is, so yes, Westbrook did place higher than CP3 who was eliminate din the first round with no MVP narrative.

In fact I clicked on the 2016 thread and it went to a page where I am arguing with people on how Karl Towns isn't a top 20 player, not a good defender, and nowhere near as good as Nikola Jokic.

It's nothing like the mvp that's voted by the media. You really going to compare the work done by our posters here to that? I mean sure there's some living in the moment going on, but it doesn't seem absurd that Westbrook was a top 5 player those years, in fact it's consensus almost anywhere despite the vicious attempt to look back and paint him as this toxic player or something. Someone in this thread said he wasn't a positive player like come on now this board needs to be better than that.
