Who would win 1 On 1 in their prime under the following rules:

First to 21 wins (half court of course)
Both players have 6 fouls and if they foul out they lose (refs from late 90's/early 00's)
Both players are always in the bonus
Shaq automatically makes any and all FTs

If a loser gets a ball, Curry will win since 3 > 2.
If a winner gets a ball, Shaq might have a good chance.

Could Curry handle Shaq’s strength in the post?

I have to say I really don't like you making Shaq's FTs something other than what they would be.

Also, I wanted you to say whether it was winner's outs or not, because that swings things for me.

Assume NBA style - loser's outs - I think I'd take Curry.

The question in the end is whether Curry can make enough 3's and get enough offensive rebounds to make up for Shaq scoring 2 points every possession (although Curry will surely be trying to steal the ball, and if he's successful enough with it that would kill Shaq).

I'm inclined to say that if Curry knows that every possession a) he has to get open and shoot 3, and b) always try to outrun Shaq to the ball, makes me think he can probably average north of 2 points per possession.

There'd be no point in trying I think. The strategy would need to be to steal the ball as Shaq dribbles from half court.

It all depends on the rules - how many dribbles, how long a shot clock, where do you get the ball from?

Who shoots free throws in 1 on 1? Why not just eliminate the free throws and take the ball out in case of a foul? I would put my money on shaq

Shaq would win 9/10 times. People who doubt it haven't played basketball...

I give Curry one win out of fluke.

Curry would drain most of his threes and strip Shaq a couple times. He wins more often than not.

Curry 60/40 IMO with these rules.

Is Shaq allowed to just waltz backwards? What are the rules on double dribbles?

Depending on the exact rules either Curry wins easily, or Shaq wins a majority.
