He wouldn't have any case over

Bron
Kd
Jokic
Giannis
Embiid
Steph
Luka
Ja
Trae
Tatum
Jimmy
Cp3
Rudy
Demar

And OFC Kawhi, Dame and Pg are hurt too

IMO he's not better than Kat, Booker,, Mitchell, Garland and others too

He'd be around Sabonis, Bam, Siakam level IMO. Top 25, 30 player.

Can't see any case for him at #8 right now. Jokic, Curry, Embiid, Giannis, Durant, LeBron, Doncic are pretty inarguably much better. Plus others like Tatum, Trae, Butler are comfortably better right now IMO, plus healthy Kawhi and George... I think I'd go around ~12-15.

And that's going too much on the other direction. Peak Gasol is easily in contention with players like current CP3, and pretty better than current Lillard or Booker for example.

Sabonis and Siakam, oh my god  . Gasol is quite literally a bigger, better positioned, much more lethal in the pop, rangier Sabonis. Just a different class of player. And that's not even considering how Pau could have developed in the current meta (played as a pretty nimble SF in Spain // showed great shooting touch when in a smaller role).
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

12-15 span sounds fair, though if we adjust for injuries and missed time then he has a case for top 10.

Fair enough, to be honest I didn't really think hard before throwing that range out there.

Looking at those names, there's no way I'd give Demar serious consideration given his long history of playoff shrinkages. Gobert is an interesting one that I haven't really thought about. Cp3 is having a great season for his age, but I really doubt that one as well. Some of these others like Tatum, I just don't see it i don't think his offensive impact is close to Pau's and Pau was basically their most important defender on those 2 title runs. I know you are lower on him in general though.

Assuming he got some time to adjust to modern schemes, 10-15 range with a small chance of being top ten.

Peak Gasol could move and play within an offence, somewhat like Sabonis maybe. But he had more impact defensively and on the glass. The guy was looooong.

Unlike lumbering old school players who'd struggle with modern offences, Gasol had the required tools. Would just be a matter of seeing how well he adjusted.
