Will Kevin Durant surpass, MJ, Malone, and Kareem(doubtful) on the all time league leading scoring list?

KD is 64 points away from achieving this milestone in which he’ll probably pull it off in two games or maybe one game give or take. He’ll be able to reach that milestone at the same age as those guys that I listed above did. I don’t know if he’ll be able to catch Kareem. Is it possible that he’ll play long enough and be healthy enough to catch both MJ and Malone?

His durability has to be a concern at this point. He's missed a lot of games the last 3 years

Would it really surprise people to see Durant only play 50-60 games per season? That and him being 33, you gotta question how long he's going to play.

With that being said it's the playoffs where he's needed. He's top 5 when healthy, but his body is just so frail.

He'll need roughly 300 games scoring at an average of 30 ppg to pass Jordan. Which would probably be about 4.5 seasons optimistically.

I don't think he'll average that much though, so at best maybe 5 season? Questionable at best if he'll even play that long.

By the time he reaches 30k points, he’ll be in his late 30’s. I don’t know if he’ll have the durability to pull it off.

That is a good way of thinking about it and when you consider his injury history it seems impossible.

He's missed 39% of his teams game since 2014-15. That means he'll average, pro-rated, 50 games a year if he has similar durability.

I just don't see how he can get there.

0 chance. He has a major injury almost every season since 2015 that ship sailed a long time ago. He wont even be top 10 in alltime scoring and he has no chance of even reaching the 30k club and passing a Dirk

I think he’ll surpass Dirk. Not sure if he’ll catch MJ and Kobe.

Kind of puts it into perspective how difficult it is for people to be consistently great scorers for an extended period of time.

Yup this is a guy who led the league in total point 5 times and it seems inconceivable he'll break the record.

That record requires a super high peak and great longevity.

I didn’t even know Dirk finished with over 31k points. That’s going to be a hard mountain for KD to climb given his current durability. He’ll be 34 later this year, that’s going to be hard in the next few years. He probably has about 3-4 more seasons before he retires.

I wouldn't take the over on him breaking 32k points. Even 30k hardly seems like a given. Part of this too is not knowing how much he really wants to be an nba player and chase milestones the way that Dirk or Malone did.

He’ll finally hit 25k points today

I guess no one is talking about it on here. 25k points and not a single thread about it. Old man LeBron is still a bigger draw than DuSnake.
