Let's continue the talk here....the old thread was a mess the last few pages anyway.
Continue to report any posts here that you think are offside and let the mod team do their job.

I don’t think any player ever has adjusted as well to loss of athleticism as LeBron has. Kareem had a skill and game that couldn’t be stopped so his scoring wasn’t as affected by loss in athleticism though that adds to Kareem’s GOAT arguments, i.e., he had a shot that wasn’t susceptible to variance over 17 years or so.
When you look at Jordan, he didn’t adjust to his loss of athleticism as well as LeBron has nor was he as versatile in his skill-set as LeBron is, allowing LeBron to play like this at 37 years of age and 62,000 minutes in. We heard for a very long time about LeBron being all about athleticism and no “skill,” or “footwork,” etc. He’s scoring 30 ppg at 62% TS playing slower, not as explosively, under the basket, shooting fadeaways, threes, etc.

volume + efficiency he is maybe the best scorer in a league with prime curry, jokic, embiid and giannis....at 37

Up next for LeBron is that random, early (midday) daylight savings game.
Last year he was Solomon Hill-ed in that game. Hopefully history does not repeat itself.
…
When was the last time the Lakers played a midday game this season? I cannot remember one. They just so happen to play one hours after daylight savings…
It’s a (Father Time) trap.
Seems like a potential trap for an old creature of habit like LeBron. An occasion rife for a Crowder-ing.
Sit this game out entirely would be my suggestion.

Can’t believe I missed both 50 point games live, wtf come on Bron one more time haha
His offensive mastery is insane, especially in this season to be up there in scoring on volume with efficiency with the likes of a an in prime Durant, Curry, even a much younger Luka, with peak Giannis, Embiid, Jokic balling out right now.

yep, back in like 2009 people still said Carmelo would are much better past 30 and be a better/greater player than lebron
Now that lebron is challenging kareem as the greatest meabingful longevity ever, the narrative has changed to "how many years for only 4 rings" essentially punishing the longevity

His athleticism has fallen off a cliff. He can’t play hard for long stretches.
And he’s dominating on savvy and technique. Huge props to this man for the work ethic.

Isn’t their game tomorrow at 9:00 p.m.?

2 assists away from 10k. It’s finally going to happen in the next game.

64 games away at a 25 points pace
57 games away at a 28 points pace

Someone told me the game was at 3:00 PM. That took my mind right back to Solomon Hill day.
I just checked (which I probably should have done before hand) and you are correct. It’s at 9:00 PM Eastern standard time, 6:00 Pacific.
That’s good, I can even watch it on TV.
That being said, disregard all knowledge of my previous post.

I remember those arguments for Carmelo because he was a much more “natural scorer,” “more fluid,” etc., and with the eye test it may look like that but look what’s happened. Jordan only had 4 seasons in which he was greater than the +4.8 rTS% (LeBron sitting at +5.7 rTS%).
And on top of all this, LeBron is sitting at +6.0 reFG%. Prime Giannis isn’t even at that number (was +6.2% last season). 2013 and 2014 LeBron was at +10.7% and +10.9% respectively. It’s really absurd what a diminished, slower, less explosive James is doing.

most people, even those who say they hate jumpshot spam, evaluate players disproportionately off their jumpers regardless of whether is 2's (for old school fans) or 3's for newer fans, bonus points for jumpers of the post thst look "jordanesque"
Jordan had a beatiful jumper, kobe had a beatiful jumper. melo too.
lebron although cool in its own way later in his career with the famous lefu**you 3's, didnt have that pretty jumper and fade away early in his career and that forever affected the perception of his skill
only crossover handles or lack of them have such disproportionate impact in a player perceived skill
thinghs like a safe and tight handle as huge player. body coordination, finishing at the rim (unless its doing H.O.R S.E layups) decisio n making, ability to finish after contact are all skills that are aprecciated less
and add thst lebrin is a huge dude, both in height and width, people give him less credit for his skill (people dont realize how much finesse there is in his finishing because they assume he just "runs and dunks")
And he is so huge he doesnt look so plástic doing a layup or fade away aeathetically speaking

I remember when there was a question on ESPN, who's playoff run was more impressive, 01 AI's or 2018 Lebron's? And when the MASSIVE gap in FG% was pointed out, someone said "yeah but Lebron is expected to be that efficient".
To which I said in the comments (where no one agreed obviously) in what world is a 6'8 perimeter player expected to be more efficient around the rim than big-men, whilst also shooting damn near 50% from mid range.
Being 250lb and having broad shoulders was a death sentence for any respect LeBron would get for his insane finishing ability. Seen Lebron do up and under finger rolls off the glass after taking off from near the free throw line only to have someone say "it's not impressive, look how big he is" lol.

0.02 ppg difference between LeBron and Giannis currently. Closest scoring race before this season was between David Thompson and George Gervin in '78 (0.07 ppg gap)
It'll be a shame if Isiah Stewart's roid rage incident is what ends up keeping him from winning the scoring title. Without that game he's at 30.12 ppg.
The bum ass role players keep costing him awards man. If not for Solomon Hill he'd have another 1st team all-defense, 1st team all-nba, and potentially another MVP.
