When was the last time the Lakers played a midday game this season? I cannot remember one. They just so happen to play one hours after daylight savings…

It’s a (Father Time) trap.

Seems like a potential trap for an old creature of habit like LeBron. An occasion rife for a Crowder-ing.

yep, back in like 2009 people still said Carmelo would are much better past 30 and be a better/greater player than lebron

Now that lebron is challenging kareem as the greatest meabingful longevity ever, the narrative has changed to "how many years for only 4 rings" essentially punishing the longevity

I remember those arguments for Carmelo because he was a much more “natural scorer,” “more fluid,” etc., and with the eye test it may look like that but look what’s happened. Jordan only had 4 seasons in which he was greater than the +4.8 rTS% (LeBron sitting at +5.7 rTS%).

And on top of all this, LeBron is sitting at +6.0 reFG%. Prime Giannis isn’t even at that number (was +6.2% last season). It’s really absurd what a diminished, slower, less explosive James is doing.

most people, even those who say they hate jumpshot spam, evaluate players disproportionately off their jumpers regardless of whether is 2's (for old school fans) or 3's for newer fans, bonus points for jumpers of the post thst look "jordanesque"

Jordan had a beatiful jumper, kobe had a beatiful jumper. melo too.

lebron although cool in its own way later in his career with the famous lefu**you 3's, didnt have that pretty jumper and fade away early in his career and that forever affected the perception of his skill

only crossover handles or lack of them have such disproportionate impact in a player perceived skill

thinghs like a safe and tight handle as huge player. body coordination, finishing at the rim (unless its doing H.O.R S.E layups) decisio n making, ability to finish after contact are all skills that are aprecciated less

and add thst lebrin is a huge dude, both in height and width, people give him less credit for his skill (people dont realize how much finesse there is in his finishing because they assume he just "runs and dunks")

And he is so huge he doesnt look so plástic doing a layup or fade away aeathetically speaking
