Mavs, and it might not take 6 games for them to do it.

Jokic is playing, right? On him alone, Denver gets this to 6 if not 7 or winning the series outright. From the Dallas perspective, its hard to see Luka losing a 3rd straight playoff series. OTOH, its hard to see him putting up a 3rd straight playoff performance to match the previous two.

Dallas will be a small favorite and should be with HCA, but I don't see either team with a clear edge. Dallas has more depth if Denver can't get their injured guys back, but Denver has the best player in the series, and best player in the series is typically the biggest deciding factor.

Mavericks in 6, maybe even 5 games.

I agree Jokic himself will make this competitive as no one in Mavs can bother him but do you think the previous two playoff performances for Luka are outliers? Clippers with Kawhi/PG/Morris/Batum were top defensive teams best positioned to slow down him. Not many players from current Denver you can throw at Luka.

IDK if they are outliers because they are all the data we have. But those were incredible performances and he could play well this year and not match them.

Nobody's positioned to slow down Luka. The Clippers haven't done it either. He singlehandedly made like half of our rotation unplayable last year.

Beating the Mavs means letting Luka get his stats and shutting down everyone else. Not sure Denver's equipped to do that either.
