What’s better longevity, 12 superstar years or 15 as a mere all star? That’s what i find difficult about evaluating who’s longevity is actually better.

Depends on what you mean.

Parish never peaked as high in the first place but is still good and definitely closer to his peak than Kareem at 39. Or one might not be talking quality at all and just who played the most or at the oldest age.

How so what one measures, how one measures, how one adjusts for era etc will be huge.

Lebron, Duncan, and Kareem feel like the clear big 3 in terms of not just longevity but elite level play for the longest. The Utah PNR duo probably rounds out the top 5?

He's not on the tier of the players already mentioned here but Clyde Drexler gets underrated in longevity discussions. He retired at age 36 after putting up 18/5/6 on above average efficiency in his final season

Easy question; Kareem,Lebron,Duncan,Malone and Kobe. Kareem had 17 top 10 years, Lebron had 18, Duncan had 11 top 10 and 4-5 top 20 years, Malone had 14 top 10 years and Kobe had 13 top 10 years and 1-2 top 20.

Parish has health on his side averaging 70+ games a season for his 21 year career. Probably would continued to average at least 10 and 7 if he played around 24mpg his last 3 years. He was probably better at 43 on the 97 bulls then the centers they had ahead of him.

I'm not sure Kobe's longevity is any better than Dirk's.
