1 Replace Russell with best of Rookie Russell, plus best of peak Russell and best of last year Russell.
For each player they get best of their rookie year for quickness and enthusiasm, best of peak year for greatness, and best of last year for smarts, knowing their teamates and knowing systems and veteraan leadership.
2-3 Give the 1960s Celtics 2 copies (two players) of the best of Cousy, KC Jones, Curry, Norm Nixon point guards,
Good lord giving Curry Nixon's speed and Cousy's passing and KC's defense and winning ways. This is a monster player GOAt candidate and there are 2 of them. They can play together but one of them would be an undersized off guard. For young people that never saw Nixon, Peak Nixon was as fast as anybody playing today and is almost as good as Chris Paul at playing Chris Paul's game. Nixon could drive and kick almost as good as Chris Paul. Nixon may not have Chris Paul's court vision but Cousy has Chris Paul's court vision. Maybe Nixon is not as good a defender as Chris Paul but Curry has high defensive basketball IQ that people don't appreciate because Curry is not fast and KC Jones was perhaps the best defesive point guard of the 1960s. This player will seemlessly shift from one players skills to anothers, for example dance/ shake and bake as Curry to get the defender off balance, explode past the defender to te rim as Nixon, jump as Nixon and then lay the shot off the backboard with the shooting touch of Curry.
4-5 and 2 copies (two players) best of Satch Sanders, Heinsohn and Draymond Green point forwards. Draymond lets Curry play off the ball. Heinsohn's ability to hit strange unguardble shots at about 35% might have some use. You better guard Draymond in the paint because a poorly guarded Heihnson might do more damage than Draymond does as a scorer. Satch knows how to play with those Celtics.
6 And a best of Klay and Havilicek so that Havilicek can actually hit the shots he took. Havlicek has great stamina, good defensive instincts and is a better passer than Klay. Klay has great defensive footwork for staying infront of faster players in on ball coverage. Havlicek help defese was good.
7 And a best of Celtics version Risen, Lovelette, Embry, Counts, Ostertag so that Russell does not have to play 48 minutes at center.
Each center brings some different skills and Ostertag did OK against Shaq and might be useful vs Wilt. I am giving Russell a big back up center that can play. Russell can play a little power forward if this team wants to go big.
8 And a best of Peak Bill Sharmin, last year Bill Sharmin, Peak Frank Ramsy, Rookie Frank Ramsy and las year Frank Ramsy.
Sharmin can shoot and Ramsy is a pesky defender with stamina who is bigger than Sharmin.
9 Best Celtics version of Willie Nauls (Maybe not playable for more than two minutes a game)
10 Peak Jim Loscutoff (maybe not playable)
11 Best of peak, Rookie, and last year Sam jones
12- Best of 1969 Bailey Howell, Don Nelson and undersized 1969 center Jim Barnes. This player can foul Shaq 6 times and Shaq can't defend him because he has some small forward skills. But this is not a true center.
13-1969 Larry Siegfried ( won't play except in emergencies. Emergency 3rd point guard)
14-Togo Palazi, not playable Celtic small forward, I just like the name and want 14 guys for emergency depth because modern teams can play 15 guys.
Only 3 players that can hit a 3 but they can really hit 3s.
Can Bill Sharmin hit a 3? Lets say no and restrict him to long 2s but he still helps with spacing
Lets Say Sam Jones can't hit 3s
Would they beat Shaq Kobe Lakers, 2016 Cavs, 2017 Warriors, 2021 Bucks, Showtime 1980s Lakers, Bad boy Pistons, and 1996 Bulls?
Does anybody think Modern size and athleitcism and shooting and scoring skills are too much for this team?
Improved 1960s celtics can they beat Modern teams?
