Which duo would you rather build a new team around?

Steph/LeBron just slightly for a few reasons:

1. LeBron's longevity by itself is a huge factor. With LeBron you get a 15 year window where's basically the best player in the league or close to it.
2. Steph's early years that are often seen as non prime now would be better in today's league plus he's getting to play with LeBron which means offenses can't even key in on him and less work for him in general.
3. Hakeem's offense wouldn't be quite as efficient today as it was in the 80's/90's.

What I like about the Curry/Lebron side is that you have so much of the team already figured out due to versatility of position. Lebron can play (historically) 1-4 for stretches but you already have a great point guard as it is who can run the offense or play off ball however much is required. They're really just a Dikembe or Ben Wallace away from perpetual titles. However Larry and Dream cover each other other's weak sides very well. Your rebounding will be more or less permanently elite and neither your offense or defense is likely to ever drop out of the top 7.

My head says take the newer guys but my heart says take the old school

Besides "Maybe" MJ and Curry, Lebron and Curry would be the greatest complimentary DUO in the history of the NBA.

Lebron probably has the great Gravity for a WING (aside from MJ) that the league has ever seen by a comfortable margin.

Curry is the the greatest PG and maybe player of all time for the Gravity as well.

Lebron either driving the court full steam is unstoppable, and if they close in with 3 players, he's the maybe the greatest at finding the open man (Aside from maybe Magic/Nash?)

Combine the two from a gravity and playstyle standpoint, and it's UNSTOPPABLE.

Even if you had Lebron and Larry as equal at their peak/prime, Lebrons shear value through Longevity would be hard to ignore. Bird and Hakeem will get a bump if its in earlier periods however Curry can sometimes be underrated in his passing, overlooked at how transferable his motor would be, and even if he wasn't shotting at the volume he is now, he is just that generational as a shooter, he would still cause a lot of issues.

It should be evident enough at how transferable Lebrons play would be in earlier generations. I think Lebron/Curry would have a comfortable enough gap on Bird/Hakeem & on almost any other duo ever.
