Possibly none, although I can entertain 1990, 1991 and 1993.

For sure 90, 91, 93. Other ones is debatable.

What about James' 2009 run? While the 2012 run was undeniably a great run, it really doesn't come close to his 2009 run -- which was one of the greatest postseasons (a case could be made for it being the greatest even) by a player ever. James' stats are almost literally unbelievable from that year: 37.4 PER, 0.399 WS/48, 35ppg/9rpg/7apg on 61.8% TS. Those numbers are so absurd they are almost like Wilt scoring 100 in a game or averaging 50 a game for a season -- they beggar belief to some extent. The Cavs did end up losing that year, but not because of James. He also put that up over 14 games, which is a pretty hefty sample size for the postseason, unlike say the gaudy stats MJ put up over 3 games in 86 & 87.
PS: Just a heads up Gregoire, thanks for reaching out, but I can't respond to PMs because I haven't met some requirement (for post count I believe) -- I would if I were able to though

The difference is LeBron in 2012 dominated in high pressure games/situations like he never did before. Two of the most famous examples are 40/18/9 down 2-1 in Indiana without Bosh, and 45/15/5 down 3-2 vs Boston and generally did that all playoffs long.

Maybe you should repost this topic from scratch because the original thread was from 2013.

i think lebron 2009 is the only season ever that beats jordan 91 (jordan clear peak in box metric stats thanks to a efficiency peak) in bpm, epm and other boxscore agreggates like that
both in the playoffs and regular season and by comfortable margins at that
at least i remember reading somethingh about that, although wpuldnt be syrprised if 2022 jokic was up there either

I mean, Jordan had a higher WS/48, BPM and PER against tougher competition... multiple times.

Off the top of my head, I'd say only '91. I haven't done a specific analysis on the question, but I'm pretty familiar - embarrassingly so, frankly - with the general contours of their careers and I know which years are which.
All human life on the earth is like grass, and all human glory is like a flower in a field. The grass dries up and its flower falls off, but the Lord’s word endures forever.

probably most of us tbh lol, if you frequent basketball forums like this you probably have a embarassingly deep knowledge on lebron vs jordan minutia
i joked once to a non basketball friend that lebron vs jordan debates get more heated and in depth than even political ones

91, 92, 93.
93 Finals Jordan was ridiculous.
