Which season do you choose as each guy's peak year and who was better?

It’s act interesting in terms of currys peak being 2016 vs 2017
That 2017 playoff run was actually absurd lol

2016 Curry in the regular season is one of the best peak ever

I see 2017 as Curry's peak. I prefer a good but not amazing regular and an elite post-season over the possible GOAT regular season and lackluster play-off showing. I'd take 2021 Giannis over either 2016 or 2017 Curry though.

2017 is an outlier as far as Curry's playoff performances go, same for Durant. And we all know it's because they were so much better than anyone else it was absurd and unfair. 2 mvp players + basically 3 other all stars and they beat a Kawhi-less Spurs in the WCF.
I'm not saying that isn't Curry's peak, but I don't think it should just be compared at face value to some other guys.
Giannis' scoring efficiency is a bit low by his standards this year, but he's still taking care of business and his passing is better than ever. If he finishes this postseason without some major questions marks I'd give serious consideration to him over Curry.

How do you get a grip on how good Curry's playoff runs in 16 and 17 with Kd on the team?

Am I the only one who would put 2015 as Curry's peak? RS numbers not quite as good as 2016, postseason numbers not quite as good as 2017, but he was very good in both. Led the RS in WS/48, OBPM, and BPM. Led the PS in WS, OBPM, and BPM. Giannis's peak is clearly last year when he had arguably the greatest Finals of all-time and I'd put it ahead of any of the Curry runs.

I mean, an extended outlier performance just means it’s his peak right?

Possibly, all I'm saying is I'm not sure Curry and KD's efficiency should be taken at face value.
Me I tend to use 2-3 best years to evaluate peak, it gives a larger sample size and eliminates aberrations.
