Who would you prefer to build around as your leading guy in their prime?

As a #1 option? Always the elite wing over the elite big. They have the ball in their hands more for scoring and playmaking and they are more likely to dictate pace and flow of the game because they are your primary ballhandlers on offense. Bigs often need the ball usually on the elbow or block, which requires an entry pass, which alot of times, a great defense can disrupt through ball denial.

Jimmy Butler to me has a no.2 option skillset with a no.1 option mentality.

Davis is the better talent, but he’s made of glass.

Give me Jimmy.

No doubt Davis is a better player with higher upside, but teams generally assume the identity of their leader & AD is G-League compared to Butler in that department.

2018-20 AD > any version of Butler IMO. i guess you could argue butler's easier to build around though

AD is an entirely different caliber of player, and both guys would leave if the team sucks. I'd gladly take Davis, glass bones included.

Put Jimmy and Giannis together and you have the next great duo in the nba.

Obviously Jimmy has done very well in Miami but he is also on an excellent team with probably the best franchise culture in the league. Assuming you get them from their rookie year, you're waiting till year 4 for Jimmy to become an All-Star level guy, and year 6 for him to become a bona fide first option.

Davis is already a transcendent top 5 player from year 3 and remains that caliber for 5 more years.

2015-2020 AD > anything we've seen from Butler. People are forgetting how good he was with the injury riddled past two seasons he's had.

Butler easily, he has all the qualities to lead a great team, he proved it. Everywhere he goes he makes the team better. He led Miami to the final, Minnesota to playoffs after more than 10 years, and he got Philly as close to contention as they'll ever get in this era. Davis is a great player, but his durability limits him at the start, and I don't really see him as a leader that you build your team around.
