I don't know but I have a philosophical leaning towards Jokic (I tend to think that the motion offense you can form around Jokic is more undeniable than Luka-ball; which has proven to be extremely potent as well). On defense I view them similarly but I don't really know what to think there.

I don't see how the choice isn't Jokic. Assuming as I'm guessing you want that he's going to extend with us. He's just the better player and he's young enough that that we should expect 5 or 6 more prime years at least.

cannot go wrong with either, luka being younger somewhat closes the gap between their current level as players

I'll say Jokic by the smallest margin but if Luka somehow gets his team past GS or to a game 7 I think it would sway me to him.

I'm going Jokic.

Luka being younger closes the gap somewhat. But Jokic is relatively young, too, is playing at a level that I'm skeptical Doncic with EVER reach (I think he was just a healthy Murray and MPJ away from winning a title THIS year), and appears to be more durable at this point, too.

I honestly expected Doncic to be ahead in the poll. I think Jokic is better now, but Doncic is 4 years younger and just took his team to a pretty impressive upset over a 64 win Suns team. Sometimes I think people forget Doncic has only been in the league 4 years.

Luka because I value winning, over +/- stats that don't correlate to it.

Yeah..Nikola never won any games right? Luka never even got out the first round before this year, meanwhile this was Jokic's first first round elimination.

But Luka is somehow a more winning player who doesn't play for stats, even though his play style is more ball dominant and he has higher box score stats.

You REALLY like those ball heavy guards with flashy moves, so much to the point that you'll just make up reasons that do not make any sense like implying Nikola is only a stat stuffer while Luka is some guy who is underapprecated by stats, despite the fact that Luka has been significantly more hyped (sever understatement) that Nikola at every step in their perspective careers.

Don't think OP is a Kobe fan, so not sure what you said is accurate
Luka doesn't even get a single media vote for all star backup this year... do you think Jokic should be unanimous MVP?

Didn't realize it is PC board thought General... The main Tatum/Luka thread was put on right after Tatum swept Durant, the early poll was one sided Tatum, until momentum caught up that night when Luka also put up good performance, and then it start to stablize. Same will be tonight if you put Tatum vs. Butler today or two days ago...

Doncic despite both being pass-first players. Doncic has a certain level of alpha that I don't think I can explain with stats.

I concede jokic is the better player today and possibly going forward.

Jokic for me. Luka has a time to overcome Joker, but it wouldn't be easy and Jokic can still improve as well.

Jokic has about three years better than Luka's peak for me. Still, I think I'm taking Doncic.
