Kareem is my GOAT, so quite a few. Certainly 1974 and 1977, most likely 1971 and 1972 as well. Then 1973/1976/1979/1980 vs 2016/2017 is a good debate.

So 4 seasons over Curry's peak for sure to me.

74 and 77 I think. There's a good argument for, like... 0 to 9, lol.

I think 1972 season is very underrated. I know he had horrible first round against the Warriors scoring-wise, but the truth is that this series was never in doubt - Bucks had +10.2 Net Rating in that series and they shut down Warriors offense to 89.4 ORtg. Warriors had relative success against Bucks offense (-3 rDRtg), but this was easily won series.

Meanwhile I don't get how people have Kareem's WCF performance against him. It was like this year Giannis series on steroids, very physical and defensive oriented series. Kareem also faced one of the best man defenders ever at his position and he still averaged 34/18/5 with DPOY defense. He was remarkable and in the last two games he got no help from his teammates.

I agree, '74 and '77 for sure.

Would consider '71, '72, '76 and '80 as well. I consider '16 Curry's peak, and his Playoffs weren't exactly perfect (he missed games + didn't match his RS production), so even Kareem has several seasons where you can pick similar nits that would be in the mix for me

Probably most healthy versions between like 71-80. Kareem is a goat candidate, and his peak is top 5 caliber. Curry is great, but he's not on that level sorry.

I would take '17 Curry over any season of Kareem.

I'd take a few of the listed Kareem seasons over Currys 2nd best ('15 or '19).

Pretty much every season from 1971-1980. I would even consider 1981 and 1982, especially 1982. I think the 1982 Lakers both as individuals and as a team are incredibly underrated.

Kareem was a much better player than Curry. I don't think it's very close. Pretty much Kareem's prime is as good as Curry's peak.

2016 is far and away Curry's best season to me. But it being a one year peak makes me question how "real" it was, especially considering his inability to maintain his play going into the postseason.

I personally don't get the hype for 2017, could someone help me see the light? It was his best postseason statistically for sure but it's such an anomaly in Curry's career. He's such a high variance player that I don't really take it as him doing anything differently or upping his game in a way that's deliberate like Hakeem, Kawhi, or LeBron do. The enormous talent disparity between the Warriors and the rest of the league is something else to consider as well.

Kareem's prime baseline level of play is just on another level. Every season from '71-'80 is in the discussion with a few of those years ('74, '76, '77) being definitive.

I appreciate the respect Kareem is getting but even I wouldn't go this far. I think Curry is brought down by his somewhat inconsistent postseason performances but his 2016-2017 seasons definitely are arguable against Kareem's best. With that being said, I think Kareem was far more consistent and reliable, as well as the fact that his impact is somewhat muted by the era he played in.

Quite a few more so due to how Steph's rs/ps peaks don't overlap that well plus injuries also come into play in both the rs and ps. So maybe as many as 7-8. I also take this to be relative to dominance within respective era and not a 'who would you take in today's nba'.
