I mean if you are diminishing things based on the opponent, Avery Johnson stubbornly focused his defense on Shaq that entire series even though he had Damp and Diop who defended Shaq reasonably well without help.

And Terry, Harris, Stackhouse, Daniels simply no match for Wade--talk about easy matchups....

But I don't think we should diminish Wade based on any of that. He was incredible and deserves all his flowers. Just as Giannis does in 2021.

Good talk mate. The one guy who consistently gives Wade his props for 06 and refuses to blame any of it on the refs. Guess that's a lie then too?

Me not thinking he had as great a career as some other players because of his relatively short and injure prime doesn't make me a liar lol. It simply means I value guys being on the court.

i am unsure how true this is, it seems like after the fact reasoning

before the finals i remember people thinking a big, strong and decently mobile big like ayton would stop giannis and that suns would exploit the gaps in bucks defense scheme with their shooting and midrange scorers

maybe it was a easy matchup for giannis, but i thought people only ever said that after the fact with hindsight of giannis dominating

I think Giannis was better.

It was probably a top 5 finals performance. His performance in game 7 is one of the all-time great games.
