Not sure the Celtics could overcome the Warriors' 3pt shooting.

Is their defense better equipped to cover the Warriors than the 2022 version? Not sure. Perkins would be unplayable in this series.

The Warriors could really sag off on Rondo a lot. Draymond vs KG is interesting.

I think I'd pick the Warriors in 6/7.

tough to say, 7 games definitely
this was the Warriors weakest team championship wise
Draymond and Klay declined
Their bench was not as deep as years past

So this isn't always apples to apples, but the same Celtics team who got taken to 7 by the Hawks and then 7 by an average Cavs team would sweep a team better than any they faced in their title run?

Makes sense.

I don't rate the 2022 high, and definitely not against a super team like the 08 Celtics. I don't think the Warriors would beat the 08 Lakers or 08 Spurs either.

And yes the Celtics went 7 games with the Hawks, but that was lack of killer instinct in early rounds. Matchup wise the 2008 Celtics are a nightmare for the Warriors. Playoff Rondo would give Curry fits. Allen and Pierce would feast on a weaker Klay, and Poole who plays zero defense. KG is way too long and quick for Draymond.

Wiggins could do the same to Pierce as he did to Tatum, big factor. Allen was no better than Klay. Rondo would be limited like Smart was.

Warriors likely win.

Playoff Rondo is still a myth I see.

Curry would absolutely torch him.

Any team that made the NBA Finals the previous year and has a prime LeBron isn't an average team. The only team that was average (maybe even below average) that year is the Hawks.

Rondo locks down Curry, Klay could give Ray troubles but dude is soo good moving without the ball that he could get the shot whenever he wanted to, I don't know how good is Wiggins defence, but Paul Pierce defence in 08 was pretty damn respectable, Then you have Kevin Garnett who will clamp anyone you put on him be it Draymond or Poole, I highly doubt that either of them can stop KG downlow. Celtics also have a pretty good bench, Sam Cassel, Tony Allen, James Posey, Glen Davis, P.J. Brown.

IMO Celtics win.

KG and Draymond going at it would be entertaining.
