Some but not that much. Ant seems to be more of a slasher in general while Tmac tended to pull up more for long 2's and 3's. Plus TMac was the better all around player and had much superior size. Ant can obviously still improve but I don't think he becomes near as good as Tmac was for a couple seasons.

This is simple and the answer is no. Neither McGrady nor Edwards are really proficient 3pt shooters so I don't understand that comp and Edwards is way more athletic than McGrady was.

McGrady during his peak was one of the deadliest offensive players of all time, he had 4-5 inches on AE, was a way better ball handler, better play maker, better finisher....

Edwards is a volume scoring guard who has some upside as a secondary ball handler. Lots of those throughout the league and NBA history. Not very many peak McGrady's you can find

McGrady was a career 33.8% 3pt shooter, he was proficient, particularly since so many kf them were unassisted. He didnt blow minds but yeah, he did all right for someone shooting in volume primarily unassisted.

Also, not sure if I see the "more athletic" angle.

Proficient was probably the wrong word. I'd consider him an average at best 3pt shooter who would have spurts of just absolutely lighting it up because he was like a microwave scorer.

The athleticism part is interesting I guess because I'm going based mostly on memory but I looked it up and McGrady had a better vert than AE which surprises me, guess it's easier to have sneaky athleticism when you're 6'9 vs 6'4. Just when I think of the 2 players I think of AE being more explosive.

That's fair, he certainly was not a consistently elite shooter from distance. An early participant in leveraging the 3 for volume, and not bad at it, but not great.

There are different kinds of athleticism, to be sure. McGrady did have a nice first step, but it's possible that Edwards does have a better one. Hard to measure, really.

Yea I think either way they aren't really very similar as players at all

No.
