Who's the better player right now? Who had the higher ceiling?

Maxey for both questions.

I am a big believer in rim-pressure and Maxey simply fits the billing here. He's a betemter scorer because of this and can really force defenses into a panic. Neither guy is a good defender but I have more optimistm in Maxey to be able guard in isolation because of his strength, quickness, and length (doesn't have a negative wingspan like hero). Maxey functionally can play bigger even if he is smaller in height.

I think Herro's better currently. Better ability to carry offense as a primary, high usage guy at the moment. I think he's a better shooter in spite of percentages favoring Maxey (higher volume shooter). I guess Maxey has the advantage defensively, but both are negatives on that end.

Love Maxey though, and with how much he's improved in such a short amount of time, he might be the better long-term bet.

I am surprised a sixers fan would choose herro. Tbh Herro gets an unfair advantage since he is a bench player so he faces weaker defenses a lot of the time. Offense is pretty comparable.

Defense herro is very bad, Maxey is just bad.

Overall edge to Maxey I think he has higher upside too.

Sure, but you could flip that and say Maxey gets less defensive attention playing off of Embiid and Harden.

Have Maxey's numbers improved post Harden trade?

Yeah, which was a surprise given the expectation he'd have a lower usage.

Pre-All Star break he was putting up 16.9 on .567 TS
Post All Star break he put 18.7 on .655 TS
