Who's the player you'd prefer to build around?

I would not trade SGA for Mitchell, ever.

If this was SGA after his rookie season I would still take SGA. He is incredibly good for his age and his skill set is very scalable with experience.

Mitchell is better right now, but yeah I agree with the general sentiment here that I value SGA's skillset as a building block moving forward

Mitchell is an explosive scorer but I’ll take SGA and not look back.

Is gonna be fascinating to see shai and giddey together the next year

I love both but have some fit concerns about diminishing returns

I also reallt want to see shai in a team with actual spacing and pick and roll/pop threats

SGA isn't a bad player, but I'm not seeing it and would go Mitchell quite easily here (to this point I would say all of Mitchells seasons have been better than any of Shais). Forward projecting could be closer, but it feels like significant ground to make up.

Fairly promising rookie season, even more promising 2nd season, but the third best guard on a mediocre team, we're not talking prime MJ here. Then proceeding to demonstrate mediocre impact as the lead guard on two absolutely terrible teams.

What exactly are folks expecting from SGA?

And OKC (PG in particular - split time guarding with Brewer) were decently above league average. I certainly agree Don wasn't there as a playmaker as a rookie (still isn't great though improved). The point - we've seen a notably worse than current Donovan with rough spacing, he was fine.

Being on a tanking team doesn't make SGAs low impact more impressive. He doesn't have to be better than a decent player (Jordan Clarkson in Dons case recently) to have high impact, he has to be better than rookie Tre Mann. Where is this 'and he's doing it on a tanking' team thing is coming from?
