Who's higher on your AT list?

I have Shaq at 7 and Magic at 9.

I have them 8th and 9th, with Shaq slightly ahead.

I have Shaq & Magic tied but I voted Shaq based on starting a team

Same/adjacent tier.

Magic has defense going as against him. Shaq I have a hard time with because I consider many of his primary moves to be offensive fouls that he got away with.

I've got Magic #6 and Shaq #7 on my All Time List behind a Top Five of MJ, LBJ, KAJ, WILT & TIM.

There are essentially two reasons I have an ever so slight preference for Magic.

1) more well rounded game, and B) positional scarcity...

For me, Magic is the #1 PG with a small gap to Steph, another small gap to Oscar/West and then another gap to the Paul/Stockton/Nash/Frazier/Chauncey tier. Compare that to BIGS where Shaq is #4 on my personal list with way more depth behind him than there is at the PG spot.

I don't think you thought about what you said much at all. The stats thing doesn't even make sense, as Magic Johnson has more eyepopping boxscore stats than Shaq, in fact that is one of the things Magic was most known about. Magic is much closer to Chamberlain as a boxscore statistical outlier than O'Neal is.

Sounds more like bias.

Magic. Didn't really hesitate much to pick him either. But Shaq was incredible. Magic's career is ridiculous in that he kept getting better as the years wore on, and who knows how many more peak-ish seasons he may have had were it not for the HIV?
