Who was the better player?

Big O.

Their scoring is way, way, way, closer than their playmaking and floor generalship. Oscar was anchoring elite offenses basically his entire career no matter who he had. Oscar was also a perfectly adequate and highly effective volume scorer. He was very efficient for Bryant's era much less his own where TS% was abysmal.

I think Kobe gave up more on defense than Oscar did as well.

I may take 2008-2010 Kobe over this year of Big O though. I'm much higher on that stretch of Kobe than previous iterations of himself.

When the comaprison is close, I always prefer Big O over Kobe. Just a better, more effective offensive player.
