Kobe for me. This was Kobe at this height--polished offensively, fairly engaged defensively and motivated to win with a competent #2 in Gasol and strong cast around him in comparison to the previous seasons.

I'm not extremely high on early/younger Shaq.

Not sure, but i would feel more comfortable going to the playoffs with kobe than this less experienced version of shaq

This isn't a fair question to Shaq as he was 22yo in 1994-95 and Kobe was 29yo in 2007-08.

Think I might take 2000-01 Frobe over 1994-95 Shaq in the playoffs too TBH, i.e., when they were both 22yo.

Change my mind?

Honestly Shaq. Better defensively, much more efficient on offense. I think 95 Shaq is more impressive than any Kobe season tbh

I think I'd take Shaq, more so in a vacuum(as in Kobe without Phil or the triangle). Shaq's agility and quickness back then was off the charts.

I'm much higher on Shaq than Kobe overall, but I think I would prefer peak Kobe over 3rd year Shaq (as amazing as he already was). Despite better mobility, Shaq wasn't a good defender in Orlando and his offense was much less refined than in his Lakers peak.

Still, I would only take the absolute best Kobe seasons over 1995 Shaq.
