People forget just how good Deron Williams was. He was consistently compared to CP3 during his prime but never gets recognition because his prime was short.

My first take was Irving, Lilliard's prime was long but his playoff performances less outstanding, Irving has been sabotaging the Nets and the Celtics were unhappy with him before that but had some outstanding years and playoffs before that, Deron is similarly interesting. Davis's pre-prime years were full of promise but except in 07, he couldn't stay healthy in his best seasons. Rose only had a 1 year prime before injuries and hasn't been in this category since. Rondo stacked up for prime playoffs but not regular season, Stevie Franchise has great numbers but they may overstate his impact, and Starbury is Francis with lesser numbers.

So, I'm going Irving just off the top of my head.

Prime I gotta go with Lillard, he's the only one that has a semi-healthy multi-season run close to his peak level, and his peak is third to Rose and Baron Davis on my book. D-Will is second, I think.

Hell, I may even go peak Baron Davis on this.
This place is a cesspool of mindless ineptitude, mental decrepitude, and intellectual lassitude. I refuse to be sucked any deeper into this whirlpool of groupthink sewage. My opinions have been expressed. I'm going to go take a shower.

Bottom seed Warriors beat the NBA's best team in 2007 because Mavericks failed to adjust to the Warriors swarming defense. Part of the problem was trying to force the offense through Dirk on the outside when Stephen Jackson had Dirk covered. But the other problem was that Jason Terry and Devin Harris were unable to run an offense against Baron Davis and the Warriors presure.

Jason Terry had plenty of speed and were often on the court together but their court vision was not so good and with Dirk neutralized Terry and Harris were not clear on what should be plan B.

In the Next round The Jazz and Deron Williams took what the Warriors gave them. Baron Davis and the Warriors swarm were unable to stop Deron Williams from running an offense the way they stopped Devin Harris and Jason Terry from running an offense. And the Jazz crashed the boards and beat the small Warriors on the boards. Dirk may have been the great shooter but when that failed I think the Mavericks should have sent Dick to offensive rebound against the small warriors.

If length of prime matters, it's Lilliard and it wouldn't be an interesting question, but to me prime is at least 3 (preferably more) seasons and best "during prime" would be average season during that prime period. Semantics, I know.
