Right out of the gate, I think I clearly have a chance with better production from Porter, Allen, Mitchell, Googz and KG. Where I think my team would be better managed is that the offense can operate through either Porter, Allen, Googz and KG. Having those four as main ball handlers opens up room for Mitchell to contribute on offense.

I would probably go with Lebron James instead of Tom Gugliotta there

OP hasn't made this explicit, here nor I think elsewhere. And calling them "Super Peak Teams" might give off the wrong message to many.

I would deduce though that you have to pick versions of players from a certain team. So OP is selecting from 1996 Timberwolves for the minutes during the draft they had Ray Allen. Often, or at least sometimes, I think the challenge may have tended towards playoff opponents but this is not the case in this instance, as the Seattle vs Minny '98 timeline wouldn't allow for Allen. Seattle are circa '98 though with Kersey and Baker.
